Has anybody used the "C Products Defense Gen III 7.62x39mm AR-15 30 Round Mags"?
How do they Perform?
Do they work Flawlessly?

Not sure anybody is gonna discuss C pro mags here. Everytime a thread gets going, it ends up locked.

I have used them, and at least to this point,  they work flawlessly. IMO, best mag available in that caliber in an AR-15 type magazine despite the issues those mags face in an AR platform.

Agreed 100%

The early C-Products were junk but since they worked with Faxon to develop the Gen3 they're solid.

Important to note that there is a difference between C-Products and C-Products Defense magazines. The similarity in names can cause confusion.

I am trying to get some.

Im backordered.

Most places that sell them at the reasonable price (below $18) are backordered.

Very strange that CPD can't fill the orders on these 7.62x39 mags.

I don't see demand being so high as the reason for not filling the orders. Must be some other reasons.

My research showed the 7.62X39 CPD mags as the best mag on the market based on users opinion.

edit:  I didnt know SGAMMO sold them as the link above shows in stock.  Maybe I can cancel my backorders and order from them.

There is a demand for CPD mags, but in my experience, back orders usually are filled within a few weeks. Visit visit the CPD web site for a list of vendors.

When did the gen 3s come out, or how do you tell what gen they are? I have a few mags I've accumulated over maybe the last 3 years or so, they run pretty good. I haven't shot them very extensively, but they run like 97%. Not quite as reliable as 5.56 through a pmag, which I have never had a single jamm with.

Brownells has the GEN III 30s for the best price I have found.

Even better than SGAMMO.

But you have to buy 5 and like SGAMMO they are backordered.

Brownells deal is 5 mags SHIPPED for $89.95

Put them on backorder and they ship when they get them.  Souldnt be too long of a wait.

Ive got 2 to hold me over till they come in. Thanks NorthRiver.

By the way, NorthRiver is a outstanding company and I will also be buying more stuff in the future like their 28 round mags.

My Gen III CPDs run great, although most of mine are 20s.

I think these are made in batches, seems like every time I want more they're out of stock for a few weeks, but they always come around.

I have all three brands for my 7.62x39 carbine, I have never had a mis feed or a no feed or a single magazine caused failure! This is my second build in that caliber, first was a gas the second a piston action. Here is a few pics of the mags and they all look like they came out of the same press!

From what I've read, it seems the gen 3 went with Wolff springs and a slightly different follower. They have a reputation as being the most reliable 7.62x39 mag (for AR's) in existence.

Might be some truth in that. Years ago for my first 7.62x39 build I bought some ASC 30s. Springs seemed weak and rounds were slow to rise. The mag springs looked no different from 5.56 mag springs so I replaced them with new AK mag springs. Lost two rounds of capacity but they were reliable. That was over 5 years ago and I'm certain ASCs have improved but when ASC came out with their 20s 2 or 3 years ago I tried some, improved but not 100% for me.

CPD gen IIIs seem to come out of the box with springs as strong as AK springs which I think is why they're reliable. but everyone's rifle is different, I always recommend trying a CPD and an ASC and see for yourself.
