I'm going to order a good amount of mags. Looking for opinions on whether or not getting smoke translucent is worth the extra $4ish a mag. Thanks

It's personal preference. I have an assortment of all of their mags and they all work the same. It is nice to see your rounds loaded up though. At least that's how I justified it for myself

Combat load of smoke. Stack black or FDE deep.

I won't go back to black after using smoke. It's just to awesome to see, very easily, how many bullets you have left.

Yeah, I have several of the black/opaque Lancer mags too, but want to pick up just a couple of the smoke ones for the cool factor...maybe for pictures.

I'm not proud...

How about a Parkerized 'smoke' Lancer?

It's really only partly coated with Alumahyde II 'Dark Parkerizing'. Also the whole spine is uncoated so you can see the case heads in daylight.

Get at least 10 smoke and maybe 10 clear.

The smoke and clear Lancers are neat, but that's about the only reason I've bought them. If the opaque ones are significantly cheaper, just buy those. In bulk.

DSG makes this choice easy, 10 packs of mags with 5 black and 5 smoke for $125

I have both, but I wouldn't pay $4 more for the smoke.

Personally if i'm going to get Laner mags i'd just get the smoked/ clear ones, because if i can't see my rounds i'd just get usgi and save the difference.

I just bought 10 more black Lancers and 10 more Pmags.

I have 3 of those black footlocker boxes stacked to the top with mags. I honestly couldn't tell you how many I have.

Probably 50 Lancers, both 20s and 30s all black. I get the cheapest I can find and that always seems to be black.

I miss the B****h 6 for 55.00 shipped.

Well, they do make a 25rd mag, which is what interests me.

They seem to still  be unavailable though.  I tried the Magpul M118 25s but they don't fit in my SR25s worth a damn.  Dropping free isn't a big concern for me but getting them to actually go INTO the gun without a bunch of trouble is.

Didn't see that option when I bought some last time. Oh well, good enough excuse to buy more.

If you just want a reliable mag - everybody makes that.  You can get a solid reliable mag for less than $10 from anybody.  The whole point of getting a mag like Lancer, is because it's clear and you can see your rounds.

I've got the smoke version for my SIG 556 SBR in homage to the 553...  I have the FDE version on my green furniture SIG 556 Classic rifle.

I love Lancer mags - I should really pick up some more and get away from Pmags.

Grip texture is another important consideration - it's more than just reliability.

I'd pay $50 for a bakelite AK mag if it's near mint, but I wouldn't stack them deep lol.
Allum and black or sand are still in boxes stacked deep. I'd shoot the smoke ones but I can't seem to find them because I have too many boxes after my last panic buy.

DSG arms has 10 packs (5 black/5 smoke) of the 30 rounders for $125 and backorderable. With free shipping they often run that's not an awful awful price.
