I just bought a Windham Weaponry SRC-308.
Are there any advantages to getting the 25 round over the 20 other then the extra 5 rounds?
Are the 25 round mags as reliable as the 20?
Do they make pouches for the 25's?
Any questions I didn't cover?

I use the 20s  b/c that's what the ammo comes in.

This and when prone I don't have to chance hitting the mag as easy.

They both work fine in my Aero and my DPMS.

Easy, buy 10 of each like I did

I use the standard 20 as that's what normal .308 comes in per box. I've got about 8 DPMS/ASC mags for range use that only get loaded with 18 rounds per mag. More than that seems to induce malfunctions.

between the 2 i prefer the 20's.  I bought about 10x 20 rounders when i got my 308 and prob have about 8-10x 25 rounders over the time.  because i do alot/most of my shooting prone, the 20s have alittle more "wiggle room" so i dont have to move the rifle.  I have since went to Lancer 10 rounders.

The 20 rounders are obviously not as long if you are on the bench shooting with them. The 25's, you can get the sr/lr m118 which allows you to load a round out a little longer then on the reg mag. I have not seen this avail in the 20 round mag. You can load them out to 2.830 on the m118 25 round mag.

I prefer the 20s but go ahead and buy some 25s while you can:-)

One version of the 25rd "MAG577" can accept max OAL of 2.830. This is an advantage if you handload.

Just as reliable.

I'm using the 308 Fastmag pouches for both.

I personally prefer the 20s. Just a little less weight, handier, and 20 rounds of 308 is already a lot of firepower.

I shoot .308 AR's quite a bit in 3-Gun and I only have two 25 round mags for when it's advantageous to run it.  Most of the time 20's just work better, especially if you need to go prone, use barriers, etc.

It's probably worth having one or two, but generally the 20's are where it's at.

I have only used my 20rd Pmags and 5rd steel mags for hunting.  I have a few 25 rounders still in the wrapper.

That being said, since I bought some of the CBC/Magtech ammo that comes in 50rd boxes, I might have to pull the 25s out for when I just want to bring one box of ammo to the range.  Oh who am I kidding, one box.  Ha.

The 20s already accept a longer OAL.

http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_2_124/257656_Why_is_the_M118_compatible__308_PMAG_a_25_rounder_.html

"The 20 rounder already works just fine with M118LR. It's a skosh on the tighter side, especially if they blow through the max spec, but it still runs great. The 10 rounder generally works great, as well, but we've seen more problems with near or just over max spec rounds, so you can expect an inline tweak on the 10 to give some additional breathing room.

The 25, from the start, was made in a version that allowed SAAMI spec ammo only, 2.810", due to various manufacturing and design constraints and a desire to drop free in almost every, if not every receiver. The M118LR version runs 2.830" ammo, but may not drop free from some of the smallest receivers, although we've only seen a few that were actually tight. We don't have to make a similar choice with the 10 and 20, it's not either/or."

I prefer the 10's for bench/prone shooting, much less chance of the mag bottoming out.  For 3-Gun, i would use the 25 rounders

Lots of great input here. I have more 20's but get some 25 because you can.
