A friend just gave me 2 Lancer L5AWM mags to try in my 300 blackout and I noticed when loading them up that it just didn't feel right.
When I pulled the the mags apart I noticed that the springs seem to be dragging on the body of the mag. The follower doesn't drag at all.
Is this normal for Lancer AWM mags?
I haven't tried them at the range yet... just curious.

If they are the smoke/ clear, there is more internal drag than the colored mags. I solved the problem by a light spray of Eezox (lubricant that dries and doesn't collect dust) on the interior of the magazine body and spring/ follower. Ran a cloth through it to remove any excess. Mag runs silent and slick.

My lancer translucents tend to be a little noisy spring-wise when running the followers up & down while empty, but not any drag enough to cause any problems at all. For that matter, my aluminum mags have a similar scratchy/sproingy noise when running their followers up & down empty as well. It's a weird quirk and could be disconcerting if you're not used to it, but never been a functional problem.
