Just in case anyone was wondering, acetone doesn't take off the logo like was mentioned in the mag deal thread. I couldn't think of anything else to try and get it off so I just used some rustoleum black spray paint along with a piece of cardboard to prevent too much overspray. I think it turned out pretty good.

Still pink under the cover.  That's the best solution though.

The pink follower and pink pull tab don't bother me at all, but the giant lips are a little much.

The pink base plate and follower on the battlemags were for breast cancer awareness.  I bought a bunch as a shout-out to my mother.  Even though I frequently use other mags, I will never remove the pink from these mags.

My buddy whose wife died from breast cancer gave out a bunch of these for awareness at the range.

I think I have one or two in my range pack.

You would have been better off with a flat paint.

Too much of a PITA to change a $5 mag to something that doesn't look dumb. And...Troy.

Finger nail polish remover (100% acetone) & a blue scrub pad took the logo right off.

Was it a lot of work? Standard nail polish remover with acetone used?

What blue scrub pad?

A body order some and was planning on trying to remove the logo off.

Thanks,

Drew

Used the 100% acetone nail polish remover and a blue Scotch-Brite scrub sponge. Make sure there's almost a puddle of it on the logo while you're scrubbing it.

Damn, I used nail polish remover and the logo didn't budge. I'll try with a blue scrubber later.

ETA: just tried again and I got the logo off with about 5 minutes of hard scrubbing. It took 35 seconds to spray paint 5. So, the nail polish remover works, but it's much much easier to make a template with cardboard in 30 seconds and grab a can of spray paint.

I looked at the back of my nail polish remover and it said it contained acetone but it didn't say in what concentration. I'm assuming it's far lower that what you have. For me, it's not worth going out and trying to find the right nail polish remover a second time, I'm just gonna spray mine. Looks like you have a pretty good method, though.

I used some emery paper and it came off in a few seconds.  The mag surface is just a little duller there now.

I used the Rit dye treatment on this one. The pink Logo turned a deep purple that you can just barely see(the flash made it stand out in the 3rd picture) and the follower and pull tab turned a splotchy purple. They do look pretty good all together and I'm sure they would have been even darker if I had used more dye and left them in longer.

You may want to try some brake cleaner to remove the logo.  I have seen few paints, markers, etc that could hold up to it.

Please  tell us how you did this.
Straight Rite dye with water?
Did you have to boil it?
Did it stain the follower or pull tab all the way through?
Was it black dye?

Thanks,
Drewmans

I briefly tried some Brakleen but it didn't seem to be doing anything.  Maybe if it was soaked for a bit, but I didn't want it to affect the plastic.

Emery paper took it off in literally a few seconds, I wouldn't waste my time with paints, dyes and solvents.

Yeah, Palmetto State Armory had them on clearance for $4.99.

I almost bought some then I remembered, Fuck Troy!

Plus with Black Friday coming up I figure P-Mags should be going for only a couple dollars more somewhere.

I'm leaving mine as is. With everyone removing the pink logo, these will surely become collectible during the next panic.

You should be able to get a lot better results with RIT dye, unless it's a weird plastic that just won't absorb it.

Go buy an $8 can of acetone at Home Depot. Saturate an old plush towel and hold it over the pink areas. It wipes right of with minimal scrubbing. Be careful to not rub the scalloped areas or they will fill up with pink.  It leaves the area slightly discolored (lighter), so wipe the area down with a little gun oil and you're good to go.

I bought 20..and am not gonna rub down 20 mags...jeez.  I thought it'd be great to have an extra 20 loaded up for false sense of security.

Just don't use them in the winter and get slightly rough with them.
