Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Lancer L5 AWM and PMAG Internals Interchangeable?

I know this is going to come off as a stupid question, but can I place the internals of a Magpul M3 PMAG into the body of a Lancer L5 AWM Magazine without any problems?

Just like the USGI mags that are sold with Magpul followers; I realize that the floor plates probably won't interchange, but how about the rest?

No.

The M3 floor plate insert won't fit.  The follower fits but tightly and the bolt hold open wouldn't work.

Why?

Mags are so cheap right now just buy new complete mags.
