I was at the bufferTech website looking for a loader and I ran across the NHMTG 20rounders
for  10.95

The picture shows a Alloy Follower.

Do you know if the NHMTG comes with a alloy follower.

I don't think any mag has had aluminum followers in this century.

Mine came with plastic followers. They have been flawless, even using them with the Blackout upper.

That's what I thought! But the pic showed a alloy follower.

That's to bad because I prefer the 20rounders w/ alloy follower over the plastic follower.

I will just take care of the 8 Colt I have hopefully they out live me.

OKAY Industries, in New Britain, CT, makes the 20rd mag for NHMTG (Ronan Corp).  The only follower that is currently supplied with these mags is a black plastic follower.  If you have a metal follower it is either a very, very old mag or has been retrofitted.  I know this because I work at Okay.

With minimal care (i.e. don't let the springs rust, and don't crush them) those 8 Colt mags will outlive you and the next guy.

I bought a box of the NHMTG mags when the Klinton-era ban ended.
Never used any of 'em until one of my rifle-team buddies needed some gear.
He shot four of my NHMTG mags with full success for a few months, and then gave 'em back to me.

I have been using this one "main" 20-rounder for over 20 years.
At least 10,000 rounds through it.... maybe 20,000

Now, truth-be-told, its actually an "Adventureline" which I picked for my "range mag" back when I got my very first AR half-a-lifetime ago.
Since I didn't recognize the name, I figured I'd "test it" to see if it worked, and if it got lost, well, what the heck.
The test is ongoing, but so far, I'd say it has a good chance of passing.

My other three range mags are Colt-marked though.
Same story. They just keep going and going.

Man,... the places those mags have carried me...

Here's the pic from the Buffertech website.

Follower looks blackish-gray.
Definitely plastic - which is fine.

By the way, the follower on the twenties is different from that on the thirties.   You can't use the upgrade Magpul followers in the twenties.

You should never use an anti tilt follower in a straight wall AR mag. The rounds will dive down in to the mag body because the taper in the casing. The follower has to tilt to compensate.
