Does anyone know about this thing?  I can't find very much info about it.  Are they rare?  What is it worth?

It's rare. Only made in a small run when the pmag was first released. The last one I saw for sale was a few years ago. I think they wanted $100. No clue of current value.

There has been a non-window one in the EE for months around $70-80 and it's not moving.  I guess the value will depend on the buyer

Yup, I would by one for $20 for the novelty of it...higher than that and I'd just buy several boring regular color pmags.

Maybe the OP's pic is a Rit Dyed pmag, or vice versa?

The picture makes it look allot brighter than it looks in person.  It's not dyed and the date code is 2007.

There were 2 runs that I know of. The first run was orange, I have at least 1 left out of 6 I bought in 2006 or so. The 2nd run was a brighter orange and IIRC came from DSG Arms, they bought 10,000 or so ( IIRC, didnt buy any from them)  for training/range mags. The 2nd batch were brighter, hunter orange type color, then the 1st batch.

Which ones were the property of Magpul that people didn't give back?  I know they still want them back, or did a few months ago.

A user here posted up a pic of a smoke Pmag. One of the reps from Magpul asked for it back as it was a T&E that was supposed to be returned and never was. The user finally returned it.

If I remember correctly, the clear plastic was provided to Magpul by TPD for their AXR Steyr AUG clone Nato stock.

You guys are weird, I don't understand why you would want something like that so badly to pay much more than the price of a normal black Pmag. If it's so you "wont lose them" dropping them in tall grass or something, just paint them? Thats the only use I can see for them.

But who knows maybe I'm the weird one since I also don't like sub 20" ar's unless your going to be clearing a building *shrug*.

OA, I hope you don't collect anything, since you apparently frown on others for doing so.
