Huhhh,

So I'm obviously new but definitely trying to prepare and looking for some advise from a brother in arms. I am building my own 5.56(working on the lower), and have been looking for deals along the way including magazines. And yes I did skim through some of the post but was looking for a clear answer. Questions are these;

For the record I live in Prairieville, Louisiana

1. Will pre-ban and post-ban magazines fit in today's DSA ZMP4(my lower)?

2. If not, can they be modified to work(springs, followers, etc.)?

3. How many magazines should one look to stock? (just bought first 1K rounds, looking to keep 5K per rifle from here)

4. Good site for mag springs(type)?

5. I'm assuming .223 will fit in 5.56 Mag?

5. And last but not least, CS, SS, or Polymer mags? I know this is debatable but I'm looking for longevity of the mag. Bending vs Breakage

Thank you for your reply's in advance.

A good battle plan that you act on today can be better than a perfect one tomorrow.

1. Yes.
3. A hundred or so per weapon is probably enough.
Basic load out when I was in was 7 mags.
Currently I favor 10+ 30rd and 10+ 20rd per weapon.
4. Brownell’s and 44mag.com
5. Yes
6. Personal preference for alum or poly, I have both.
CS springs are lifetime for service life in theory, but may need more care.
SS springs don’t need as much care, but have a shorter service life.
Service life is relative as the SS springs last plenty long for most people.

+1 to these.

Pretty much any good quality mag will fit your rifle.

Congrats on the new rifle!
