A lot of retailers are now selling D&H mags with Magpul anti-tilt followers as a standard upgrade and that is something to think about as well.

These are the mags I am leaning towards, the ones with the magpul followers. I have numerous metal mags (most from different manufacturers) in my own collection, but mostly use pmags. I haven't bought mags in a while, so like is said, I don't want to buy garbage, especially considering these are for duty use.

They are good for metal mags. No issues with them so far. I have a few D&H and they work good. I have mostly Pmags now though.

Yes, D&H are top tier mags, especially with MagPul follower. (DSG Arms are made for them by D&H, BTW.)
BUT...you can't go wrong with NMHTG/OKAY and IMHO Center Industries, with MagPul follower (Gen1 or Gen3) Brownells w/tan followers...some stand by them. I can't say yeah or nay, but I feel they're oftentimes overpriced. |

Yes, D&H are great mags, especially for the price you can lay them in for.

Not a HSLD guy, but no significant issues w/ D&H or Brownells, nor have I heard of any.
I've also had good results w/ DSG (Here's a 10-pack offer): http://dsgarms.com/ProductInfo/MA-02DSGB10A.aspx As somebody said, buy 'em cheap and stack 'em deep and mags are a disposable commodity... Given it's approaching Independence Day, I'd assume you'll see additional sales beyond the PSA sale/free shipping and what others are already offering. If you're talking "large" quantities, I know Brownells and DSG have GSA and maybe state .GOV pricing so I'd call direct... Not sure what the "large" threshold is. |

"Large" for these guys is 2000 to 5000 mags. I know. I tried long ago. |

D&H in my opinion are the 2nd best non polymer mag. I prefer the NHMTG ones over the D&H or Brownells and greatly over C Products. The NHMTG seem to be made stronger. The aluminum seems to be stronger and thicker. Be sure to go with the Magpul self leveling follower. I would avoid C Products. If I could get the NHMTG ones for close to the same price I would get them over others. I bought 10 from 44mag.com the other day for $12.99 a piece.although I prefer PMAGS I still like to have a few USGI ones 44mag shipping is also just $5 . Bravo Company has the D&H ones for $10.99 with the magpul followers.
Just my 2 cents 1.)NHMTG 2.)D&H or Brownells. 3.) C Products. |

D&H have been the sole supplier of mags to the Canadian Forces since we switched to aluminum in the mid '90s. The teflon finished ones hold up amazingly well, buy with confidence.

I been doing some reading and am leaning towards them at the moment, but all advice is appreciated. No, they're horrible mags. If you have any i'll gladly take them off your hands. I just want them to recycle the AL. I'm just kiddin' ya ! D&H with magpul followers are my favorite AL. mags. You can purchase them pretty cheap from a couple places, DSG being one such place. |

http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/AR-15-Magazines-p/magazines%20dh%20gt30mf.htm
I used to be a fan of the P mag. But they did changes to the mag such as a follower that doesn't go as high as it used to. The ribs on the back of the older mags that don't fit tight mag wells. I can't be bothered with the changes that they make that sometimes makes for a product that doesn't work. Ordered 3 of these for my latest build. Like them. They work. Price is more than fair. Yesterday ordered 20 more. ![]() |
