I have always used GI type and the very infrequent problems have been due to cleaning issues brought on by myself.

Pretty much crappy old range mags that I never took care of but then again I never counted on them either.

Due to my experience I have never bothered to spend the extra money for p-mags.

Many folks here seem to think they are excelent so I don't expect there is really a wrong answer

Stock up on both.

I have more USGI in my stash but the PMags are my favorite and my go to mags. I buy whatever is cheapest.

I don't shoot as much as some but in my shooting I have had one old beat to hell USGI fail to lock the bolt back. It was very well used and had a green follower.

It's really hard to beat the bulk pack USGI mags that end up costing $9/ea with a magpul follower.

A worn out spring would cause that.

DSG 10 Pack

DSG is in Fort Worth so if your in that area you can pick them up for $88 or so. If your 300 miles West down 114 (pretty much anywhere else), the total will come out to $94 to ship.

I'm actually about to order another 10 pack. Some of mine got stolen (along with a brand new PMAG) and I'm just slowly replacing as I go, gonna wait on the M3's to replace the PMAG.

Edit: I just ordered some more, tax was $6.16, shipping (to Lubbock) was $7.10. When I ordered back in March, shipping was a little less.

Who makes the mags? A military supplier? I live in LA now but will be in dfw next week. Looks like its cheaper to pay tax than have them shipped to me.

The floor plates are stamped Defense Solutions Group, INC Fort Worth, TX CAGE 1L0J5 The bodies have the CAGE code 04TQ4 which I believe means they are manufactured by D&H.

The correct answer is "both."

I already have over 200 USGI magazines... But I only have 5 P-Mags.
So... I guess I need more P-Mags.

Great deal, I just picked up a 10 pack and the total was $98.26 with tax and shipping to Houston.
