THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
Title kind of sums it up.

The ammo I bought came with the little metal guide that fits my metal mags, but P-mags are a little to wide to fit the guide on properly.

Do I need to file down the guide I have to make it fit or is there a better option?

I saw a guide at the fun store for $25 but didn't take the time to find out who made it or if it would fit the P-mag.

I haven't run into a spoon yet that doesn't fit my Pmags.
I fight..., so you don't have to.

Now, they fit pretty tight, but they slide on with damaging anything.

A standard spoon fits a pmag just fine.

I suggest getting the Canadian / thermold stripper guide. They cost about $9 and IMHO are the best.

This.

PMags work with standard spoons, but on ALL Mags including the USGI and PMags the Strip Lula is the way to go if loading from stripper clips

I agree that the Strip LULA can be used for PMags but I suggest not using one, they have a tendency to slip off and they will slip off

Below is something I wrote in the past and goes over the pros and cons IMHO of the three type of stripper guides.

There are 3 that I have used GI-Spoon, StripLULA, and Thermold Stripper clip guide.

My Favorite and by far the BEST IMO is the Candian Military aka Thermold Stripper Guide!!! Also the best bang for your buck.

GI-spoon:
Pros: Cheap and compact
Cons: Rounds can somtimes twist while loading, Can slip off a Pmag while loading unless you hold it tightly against it, & can't load loose rounds.

StripLULA:
Pros: Can also load loose rounds, semi-Compact, designed to keep rounds from twisting, and has a thumb saver plunger device
Cons: Can slip off a Pmag while loading unless you hold it tightly against it and expensive ($25-$30)

Thermold Stripper clip guide:
Pros: covers the entire top of the magazine so will not slip off Pmags, Also loads loose rounds, Rounds will not twist, moderate price ($7-$10)
Cons: no thumb saver, larger not as compact as the others.

Never had a problem with GI spoons. In fact, they work better on my Pmags than my GI mags. OP might have a bad spoon.

You need to hold the StripLULA on the P-Mag so it does not slip off. At least that is what I do. I also reuse the stripper clips and use the StripLULA to load 10 rounds at a time on the stripper clips.
