I've been deployed since the election and before I deployed I had still in boxes 20 cases of Wolf Gold and 110 mags loaded with Wolf Gold as well (28 a mag in DSG brand D&H mags wife might have needed so hold of zombies, she's a cop).
On this deployment I've added 10 cases now of Wolf Gold .223, one case of GG&G 5.56 m855, 600 rounds of .223 Speer Gold Dot and 2000 rounds of Geco 5.56 55 grain. Also added 1500 of remanufactured .223 but that because I thought I would not have internet. My chest rig 8 loaded pmags and body armor has 8 30 round Pmags loaded with mk318. So Ammo Gods with that said do I have too much Wolf Gold? I have in ammo cans brown box xm193, q3131, wolf Gold 5.56 (yeah the stuff my LWRCi loves that hates 20 inch guns), PPU 5.56, S&B .223 (5.56? Shoots 3251 in my 20 inch) and a Remington, federal, fiochhi, PMC, wolf, brown/silver bear, and centurion .223s. People say diversify ammo, (like PMC my wolf made by Tula runs better). The question is could I have gotten a pallet discount, is that too much of one ammo, and why I don't have IMI, well it was always $50-60 more than wolf Gold until recently. No MEN or magtech 5.56 that's recent and wife is mad anyway because of the election and post election 2020 is around the corner. I want magtech and men 5.56 but wolf Gold at $270 shipped is hard to pass. I need help. |

Wolf gold is an awesome round to stack up on, and about the best deal going all things considered. I wish I had 30k+

Wolf Gold is the perfect ammo to stack deep. Keep going. It's never enough. Thank you for your service.

"wife is mad anyway because of the election"
Angry about the election why? |
|
[#5]
Why do "people say diversify ammo"?
Seems to me it makes more sense to find one load that works, and get real intimate with that load so you know how it's going to perform. If you're switching ammo every mag, you don't know what to expect. |

My stockpiling consists of: BH 77gr TMK, Fusion MSR, Gold Dot 55gr & 64gr and a bunch of Federal XM193 & XM855. I'm going for quality self defense loads over quantity of rounds though so I'm done with FMJ unless I can find quality brass case for <$.20/rd shipped anytime soon.
Wolf Gold is one of the better ones to stock though, if FMJ is what you're set on stocking. |

Where's the $270 Wolf? I can always use a couple of cases. I've had great results with the cases I've shot.

Seems like you have the right amount of wolf gold to keep adding more cases to the fort!

The only times you can have too much ammo is when you're drowning, or if you're on fire.
Wolf Gold is GTG, I wouldn't mind having as much as I could hoard. |

If I wasn't 20K+ deep in Federal 5.56 I'd probably look at Wolf Gold. I know what Federal does on a consistent basis and will continue to purchase it at about a 10% increase in cost to Wolf

I ordered a half case for the AUG. It's not been liking the Wolf Polycase which I've heard gets better as the rifle gets run in. We will see. But I expect good performance from the WOLF GOLD.

In the end I think getting shot with any 223/556 would suck so I tend to go quantity over quality. |

I have seen the results of being shot with a fast moving 55gr FMJ, it is not a pretty picture, they will mess you up. Just ask the millions of dead VC and North Vietnamese regulars!
I know I don't want to get shot with one! |

You pay like $40 annually and then have days where only Buyer's Club members can use certain discount codes. I like the "Double Discount" days because I picked up (2) cases of Wolf Gold for $262 shipped a piece. They also have this 4-pay system where if your order is over $150 then you can split it into 4 payments over the following months with no interest charged. I used to think the Buyers Club was kind of dumb but really if you buy a couple cases of ammo a year at a minimum it pays for itself so I'm happy with it. View Quote I've used the 4 pay system for some big money items in the past. Example TA31F ACOG I bought years ago. Made it affordable to me breaking that 1200+ dollars into smaller chunks. |

I finally tested Wolf Gold 55 gr FMJ from a 16" barrel yesterday. I'll post a video when it's ready.

Probably a couple more weeks. Should be on the ar15.com YouTube channel.

Cliff's notes is that it still fragmented well (obviously) and had about a 4" long neck with lots of disruption. Remaining fragment deviated from the original path at about 45° and left the block at about 15". In short, basically the same as M193 or any other copper jacketed 55 gr FMJ with a cannelure at appropriate speed.
