I think it's just marketing speak for Modern Sporting Rifle.
It's the same ammo. |

As with their Fusion load, the MSR stands for "Modern Sporting Rifle". And the MSR load has harder primers (for the free floating firing pins of the AR) and also has powder formulated for the AR gas system. The MSR Fusion has a tiny "AR" on the primer.
I do not know if this XM193 clone got the same MSR treatment as the Fusion or maybe it is just marketing. Hopefully they are offering some improvement. |

I called Federal, it's their new redesigned package . I just bought some AE 223 that had the same new design as the AR 556.
