I am seeing more .22 ammo available than I have in a long time. I still don't see a ton locally though.

So, what ammo do you guys stock up on for general blasting as well as varmint duty?

I have a AR-22, Ruger 10/22 and a Ruger Mark III. I also have a CZ-452 for when I'm just looking to take out varmints.

Types of ammo and current deals on that ammo are appreciated!

If I had a choice I would buy CCI mini mag as it seems to be a tad more accurate than the bulk ammo even though a bit costly.  Note: Midwayusa has some CCI   under part #   234-289    $28.99 per box of 300 Troy Landry box

CCI SV.

Have lost all interest in the high velocity stuff ever since getting a couple rimfire suppressors.

I load up on federal automatch bulk because it's cheap and available. I buy CCI Standard Velocity and maintain a small stock of it because it is very accurate and very quiet out of my suppressed bolt action.

CCI SV is great stuff.

I like Wolf Gold if I can get it.  Also, the good Federal Match.  Or Lapua.  I'm almost past the point where I quit plinking (when 22 go so hard to find) and want to have as much accuracy as I can.

Geco?  seems to be a good brand from reading but haven't shot any yet.  Will try soon.

I've been running through a box of Thunderbolts lately, and they have been doing well.

I will buy CCI STD Vel if it is less than $0.10 per round.

I focus on sub-sonic rounds since I only shoot 22lr through a can.

I will buy Federal Auto Match since it is subsonic out of my pistols and very accurate.

Other than Remington Subsonic HP I buy nothing Remington in 22lr.

I will also buy Blazer 22lr since it is great in my Glock 22lr conversion.

CCI only. MM for the woods and SV for suppressed around the house.

Since Sandy Hook I bought anything I could find.  Now that I've got a few thousand and it's easier to find I hold out for anything CCI but the SV is my favorite.

I have found that 22LR, much more than any other caliber, is very load dependent for accuracy and sometimes reliability. So try some of the suggestions above and see what functions best in your gun. Then stock up on that.

I tend to stock up on the more expensive match type, subsonic loads like Eley Club and SK Standard Plus. They work great with my suppressor and shoot about .50-.75" at 50 yards. The bulk type ammo gives me 1.5-2.00".

22LR Ammo - What Do You Stock Up On?
View Quote

I don't. not at today's prices.  I have 22 stock & some 22 gnus & don't shoot them.
But to the OP  I did stock on Mini mags mostly.  I also like the Winchester M22's. My Semi long guns love that ammo.

Anything. I'm up to around 10,000 rounds. A pittance around here, I know. I stopped buying it around a year ago. Don't need anymore although that might change since I might be getting a FA Mac 10 with a .22 conversion

I currently have CCI SV, CCI Mini Mag HP, Federal Bulk and CCI Quiet (710 fps version).

I had 10 bricks of Remington Golden Turd that I sold off after Sandy Hook for a ridiculous profit, because I consider it turd ammo and that was the best use for it.

This.  I get Fed Auto-Match when it is on sale for $19.99 at Dick's.  A little over 6 cents a round at this price.

GECO. Not cheap but worth the reliability, especially thru a 10/22. Over 2k fired without a hiccup.  The flavor I buy is 22lr for semi autos, 40 grain solids made in Germany. I've bought it from AIM as well as SGA. They both usually sell out pretty fast whenever either vendor gets it in stock.

This...and tons of ThunderCrud and WildCrap.  Many here turn their noses up on the non-premium 22r ammo.  Not me, I was enjoying range time shooting the 22r crap while many were using ammo locating apps and visiting Walmart at odd hours to find ammo to purchase.

My Favorite general purpose .22LR round is CCI Standard Velocity but I haven't see it at what I consider a reasonable price for a long time. My 2nd favorite is Federal AutoMatch and that's what I have the most of right now. A place local to me had it for $17.49 a box (325rds) so I picked up a case. Winchester DynaPoints are good too. The only rounds I won't buy are any of the Remington loads such as their 'Golden Bullets". I know some love them but they have been crap in my experience.

For general plinking, anymore i try and and get as much cci (quiet, std.V, and mini mag) as I can as that seems to be the most consistent  for me.

Second to that I've stocked up Aguila.

I stay away from Winchester ammo anymore..The M22 I have is dirty as hell...and i have way to many failures to fire.

Remington..outside of the CMP stuff I have, I won't ever touch the commercial Remington stuff..heard too many bad things.

Our AR conversion likes Fed bulk pack but is most accurate with CCI SV.

AA Glock conversion likes CCI Mini Mags . Distant second is Remmy Golden Bullets.

Marlin model 60  , we have two, they run well with Fed bulk packs , Auto Match, & CCI Blaser.

AR7 (Henry version)works well and is most accurate with Fed Champion Solids (lrn).

Nothing here is reliable with anything Winchester makes.

We have about 25k on hand, 10 k of that is bulk pack federal, we shoot them and Mini Mags the most so that's what I keep an eye out for.

Federal Auto Match shot the best groups for the money out of my guns. I really like Eley 40g Target but it's too expensive for everyday shooting.
