Gent's,

What's the verdict on this ammo? I've never heard of Australian Munitions ammo before.

it's excellent.  ADI makes munitions for Australia and NZ

if you have a line on where to get some at a reasonable price, let us know...

Cool, thanks for the info...went back and picked up a case. Cabela's has it for $329.99 per 900 (case/can). I thought $0.37 a round would be a decent deal but, wanted to make sure this wasn't crap ammo.

Cheers

Just an FYI but the label on the ammo can shows that it is F1 not the F1A1 that is more meant for the M4 platform from what I can find.  It appears that the F1 is loaded with H322 powder while the F1A1 is loaded with 8208XBR powder.

I have 2700 rounds of the F1 and its the best factory load I have found in my rifles. It even shoots decent groups which sold me.

Cartridge, Ball, F1: 5.56×45mm FN SS109 equivalent produced by Thales Australia, formerly Australian Defence Industries (ADI).

Cartridge, Ball, F1A1 [Green tip]: 5.56×45mm with optimized projectile having a modified boat tail length and meplat diameter, redesigned case thickness, new primer cup design, and AR2210V01 propellant

If it came on AUG stripper clips, I'd be all over this.

Please whoever gets hands on this ammo confirm that it is boxer.
Cabela's description says Boxer but you know how that goes.
All of the F4 ball I had with 83-88 headstamps was berdan.

I can tell you it's a pleasure to reload compared to some others.

ADI brass is excellent, it reloads very well.  There's a commercial reloading firm here that will use ADI brass in preference to almost any other.  I must have a few thousand reloads in my ammo safe - almost all of it in ADI cases.  Never a problem.
