Thoughts on the ZQI vs American Eagle for the range.. About the same price point.
Both available at the local WM, similar price the ZQI being a bit cheaper.

Thanks.

I've tried ZQ1 in my 9mm and it was accurate but I had to quit using it because I kept getting light primer strikes with it. It was the only ammo this particular gun has issues with so I'm thinking the primers must be really hard.

I found this also. I wouldn't buy it again unless it was a super steal. Here's the specs on what I shot
O.A.L 1.165"
case length .748"
powder charge 6.3gr (unknown ball type powder)
bullet 123.9gr
case weight 60.3gr.

Had several FTF in my HK VP9. My reloads shot fine in the same handgun YMMV

The ZQI 5.56 is the best "military ball" ammo I've ever shot, accuracy wise. Some one on here chrono'ed it, and it came out as average, IIRC. My guns seem to love the stuff. Their 7.62 is getting mixed results, though.

That ZQ stuff is crazy over priced. Get the federal.

Over priced? WM has the ZQI 7.62 for 9.99 and 5.56 same price for 30rds.

You're mistaken. It's 33 cents a round in the smallest boxed form you can purchase. That is the cheapest ss109 I can find on any given day.

Someone in my very large club put up an empty box of ZQ1 on the bulletin board with the notation "don't buy this. Worst ammo made." Seeing this I would buy Federal.

I shot 5 boxes of the 5.56 ammo at paper targets.  I was getting a larger vertical string with the ZQI than with Federal XM855.  I don't think it was operator error or the firearm (Colt LE6920). That said, every shot went bang on the first pull and I had no failures to feed or eject. Based on this, I can't not recommend it, but I'll probably stick with Federal ammo.

Sounds like your buddy cant hit and blamed it on ammo. This isnt super high precision 5.56 obviously, but for M855 its not bad at all.

I have shot the ZQ1, and have nothing bad to say about it. I buy it since it always goes bang and hits what I'm shooting at, at a lower price.

I mostly shoot the Federal/AE XM193 but I have been shooting the ZQI stuff lately and have no complaints. I usually grab a couple boxes each time I go to walmart.

Hmmm, shooting offhand it groups about the same as the Federal stuff for me. Sometimes I actually think my 1/9 barrel likes the 62 grain stuff better.

I just did a mini-range report on it.  I liked it, seemed a tad hotter than LC or ADCOM.  Was more accurate than ADCOM, will be buying oodles.
