I walked into Wall-mart today and saw these cans in the ammunition case for $119.  Nothing written on the description except 55 grain. I asked everyone and no one knew what the stuff was. I am assuming 556 . It is packed in 500 round metal cans....looks like surplus and is sealed .If someone does know... would appreciate letting me know if this stuff any good? Will it keep for awhile unopened?
Thanks

Looks like this, and this

Sealed stuff like that can last for fifty years or more. I'd be tempted to buy a case, shoot some, and if it's any good buy a couple to stash.

I just saw those today. Its 500 rounds of tul ammo 5.56 but its steel ammo. Which is fine if youre just plinking around but its definately lower quality

Thats Tula,  buy it all if you have a good Ar that'll shoot steel case.

It so happens that I shot 60 rounds of Tula 223 today (steel for the first time) in my MP15 Sport. My carbine ate 'em like candy and the accuracy's the same as other brands I've shot. I'd stock up on 'em for when SHTF especially when they're cheap.

I've only shot at 25 yards as I'm set up for CQB.

Where?, when you consider shipping online it's pretty much the same as paying sales tax. Also that's $.23 a round after taxes about $.25 a round, I can shoot brass for $.30 a round, so if you buy enough of it it;s probably worth it plus not having to pick brass at the range is nice.

Ammo stored in spam cans is made for storin, not for shootin! :P I bought a can just to put on the shelf for long term.
