But who the heck wants to pay $0.28 per round????????

That's the cheapest price I can find online for in-stock .22 LR.  I bought a .22 upper for my AR so I could save money and still get some trigger time.  (Of course, with .223 ammo going for $0.80 a round and up, I guess I'd be saving money even at the outrageous, price-gouging price level that .22 LR is at right now.

Makes me look like a genius for snagging 10K rounds of Aquila from CMP for $485 last month.

Let's see, 10,000 rounds at $0.28 per round.... That would be 577% profit in one month.

Screw buying gold.

no joke, its funny that 5.45 is cheaper per round than most .22 available.
AK74 is the new 10/22, sorry squirrel.

You are right! I am glad I stocked deep when I got my AR-15 chambered in 5.45x39, it is getting shot more than my .22! Who would belive that .22 is now more than centerfire!

Well, ya can't reload .22. Not anyway I know of that is worth the effort at least.

That's just stupid and anybody who pays it is just fanning the flames.

please, PLEASE wait. They are making millions of rounds a day. THE PRICE WILL COME DOWN!!!!
That's assuming we stop waiting in line to pay too much.
imho if "WE" are paying more than 7 cents a round for 22LR or 35 cents a round for 223/556 we need a Brain Scan.
Unfortunately I think I could probably make money in the Brain Scan Business.

By knowing that they dont charge til it ships and it most likely wont ship for....well ever?  Sorry.  Going on my 1 year anniversary and sitting here staring at a 2000 dollar lower that they didnt even bother to ask my permission to send has made me bitter.

My local Academy Sports still gets the occasional supply of .22 LR ammo.    550 rd boxes of Winchester are $19.99.   1600 round ammo cans of CCI Mini Mags are still $99.99.  Remington Bucket O Bullets is around $65.99.  Various others in bulk too but this is "WHEN" they show up.   Every morning when the doors open there is a parade of 20 to 30 men coming in to gather what they can at one box per caliber.

Last week they put out 8 of the Bucket O Bullets.   As soon as the doors opened the first 8 customers each grabbed one.  Poof gone that fast.

Unfortunately most who do this at Academy are simply reselling the ammo at the markups many are willing to pay.

LGS had some Winchester Subsonic and Federal Match at $5.99 /per 50 with a one box per person limit, and some standard CCI for $3.99 /per 50 limit of two per person. Snagged them since it was the best price I've found on any. They had some bulk boxes of Federal and Winchester, but I wasn't quick enough, and they were sold out by the time I got there. It's just insane how high this stuff is going.

I am seeing this stuff at local LGS's for 2-5x markup, and noticing the local gun traders are the same.
