THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT Better if kept in separately identifiable mags. Some for HD (frangible) some for blasting through hmmm... Cars, mail trucks, phsycotic school bus drivers... |

Positives? None that I can see.
Negatives? What would be the point? If the time comes that I need to switch between different types of ammo..... well... That's what spare mags are for, aren't they? Not being a smart-ass, I just don't see the point on staggering different types of ammo within the same magazine, be it handgun, rifle, or shotgun. I'm sorry I wasn't more help, dude.. |

NEVER ... again.
The SO used to recommend staggering the rounds in the shotgun so they would come out 2-00 buck followed by slugs, but that was abandoned in the late 90's. I can see absolutely no value to staggering rounds in a rifle unless you're mixing in tracer rounds for some reason. When shooting a rifle I don't want to think about which round is coming up and what that might to to my POA. As said above –– that's what spare mags are for. |

Well one thing that crossed my mind while shooting at Ft. Campbells unknown distance range was the fact that I absolutely love TSX rnds. (Largest Hog to date was 395). However my 1-6 scope allows hits out to 760 meters. I cant make those shots with anything less than .390 BC (Hornady 75 HPBT). Now those shots could come up at any time without much time at all for a mag change. In this case would it be of value to have a hard hitting barrier blind rnd. Staggered with highly accurate rnds. Aahh kill this thread I'm typing dumb.
