Took advantage of Freedom Munitions free shipping offer and got 2,000 rounds of 5.56 and 1000 rounds of 9mm.
According to the media, this is a "huge stockpile" of ammo. I call it: "Enough for a couple months worth of training classes." |

Decapped and swaged 500 cases of 5.56 NATO mix of LC, PPU, Hornady, and a few others. loading them next week. Single stage press. Slow goes it.
I like the Lee universal decapping die. The PPU crimps are very tough to decap. |

Been a few weeks, but I grabbed 1k of XM193I from SGAMMO, and 1k of Freedom Munitions 62gr PSP. $.38 shipped for each.
Also got 200 PPU 75gr bthp from SGammo but wish I woulda held out for the PPU 69gr that AIM now has in stock. Waiting for Freedom Munitions to do the $.25 per round deal on their .40 remans again. I really like their .40s. Looks and shoots just like federal champion, and is always cleaner. Obviously plated rather than jacketed. |

Went to Wally World this morning and as I always do, walked by the ammo shelf. Low and behold, 2 1000rd boxes of M22. Only could buy one of them, from what they salesman said, they changed their policy on bulk purchases, only allowing 1 per customer. He said they're trying to get rid of the neckbearding.
Price OTD was 55.43 |

I shot 200rds of 55g FMJ 5.56, 100rds 115g 9mm ball, and 100rds 230g 45 ACP ball so I needed to replace it. Naturally I bought more than I shot. Ordered 500rds Fiocchi 55g .223/5.56 FMJ, 500rds Fiocchi 115g 9mm FMJ, and 50rds Fiocchi 230g 45ACP FMJ. Palmetto State Armory had some good sale codes (10% off and another for $30 off an order $200+) and I made good use of them.

100 rounds Black Hills 55gr FMJ Have a new customized Rem. 700 coming next week, I can't wait figured 40 rounds just wasn't enough to take it out a few times so I put off ordering a Pelican 1750 for it, since I already have several cases that would be usable to carry it to and from the range, and started ordering ammo once I found it online. |

My first AR rifle (Rainier Ruc 2-16) will be here Friday! I thought it would be nice to try a few different kinds/qualities of ammo to see how the rifle responds. First I purchased some ZQI ammo (brass/62g/5.56) from Walmart at around 46 cents/round. Then on a strong recommendation from thetruthaboutguns I bought some Winchester 5.56/55grain ammo from Academy at around 52 cents/round. The Winchester seems to get high praise. If I end up liking it I would love to know of a place where I could purchase it in bulk. Anyone know somebody that sells that kind of volume of the Winchester???

The Winchester penetrator rounds are cheaper than the target rounds at my Academy. 50 cents vs 53 cents.

I finally repaired my Dillon 550 press. The "crank" was cracked. That's the part that the handle attaches. Dillon sent me a free replacement about 9 months ago. So, I took it apart and washed all the parts. I assembled, oiled, and adjusted everything. It's working as smooth as glass now. I loaded 100 rounds of practice ammo. It's going to be nice to be shooting the black rifles again. I am trying to change my habit of procrastination.

Nice score indeed....nice to see it approaching non-ridiculous pricing (last time I bought some of that in 2010 it was 9.99) |
