Ammomen has FREE SHIPPING with CODE FREESHIP.  Also, no sales tax! At least for me to WA.

500 Rd- Magtech .300 AAC Blackout 200 Gr FMJ $0.50 CPR.

I bought the 500 round box, but should have bought 10 of the 50 round boxes. Would have been cheaper.

Thanks for posting this!

Hit up my local Walmart and cleaned them out of the Winchester 5.56! That price is better than Wolf Gold and it is fantastic brass if you reload!

Friendly request for someone to post if Target Sports does the 50% off Federal HST again!  For some reason I’m not getting the notifications from them.

Big thanks ahead of time!

It's not HST, but Target Sports USA has Federal Power-Shok 223 Remington Ammo 64 Grain Jacketed Soft Point on sale for $99.90 for a case of 200 (10 boxes of 20) with free shipping. Combine that with the Federal rebate on Power-Shok and you get $50 back, making it $.25 / round.

Federal Black Packs are going on sale again, some already started.  About 24 cents/round for .223 delivered (depending); after also doing the Rebate Game (I know, lame rebate games, but I will say it is pretty smooth and easy to do).  Academy Sports seems to have the best delivered price I can find right now, with free shipping.  PSA has it as well, but their shipping prices are insanely high; they wanted $74 just for shipping 8 150 count boxes of ammo.  Might be cheaper where you live.

When are typically the best times of year to buy ammo (i.e. black Friday sales)?

What is considered a good deal? Right now seems like the best I can find is $.28 round shipped for brass casing.

Just finally bought my first AR and looking to stock up on target ammo. Ranges around here only allow brass casings...

If you plan to stock up, look into Targetsportsusa prime membership. It gives an 8% discount off their standard prices and free shipping for any quantity ordered.

Wolf Gold is .247/rd delivered with the membership.

Wolf Golf, now in 62 grain.  Not as economic as the 55 grain (0.31), but likely more accurate than LC.  News to me; just stumbled across it today.

Interesting.  Another site says made in Taiwan from the same plant as the Wolf Gold .223 55gr stuff.

Yep; it says that too at TSUSA.  I bought it purely based on my experience with the 55gr loading.

Although, this Taiwan made 5.56mm ammo is new to the US market, the first reviews and testing yield great results and positive feedback.

$5.69 if you are a prime member.

I needed some more ammo so I added 200rds of the Wolf Gold Green tip to try.  I'll compare to LC and see how it does.

Well, it kinda counts - ammo for your staple gun!  Cheapest way I've seen to get JT21 staples, for about 1/4 retail.  I burn through these things like water putting up targets at the range.

Yep
“This surplus that we've gotten a hold of is from a Malaysian government-owned ordnance company and it is HOT (fast, not stolen). 5.56x45mm ammo has been available in two flavors since the early '80s; M193 and NATO. What we've got here is the [older of the two] M193 bullets which have a higher muzzle velocity, partially offsetting the projectile's lighter weight with increased kinetic energy, compared to the NATO pattern.”

It's a good deal for some good ammo - I always liked the Mal M193.  But be aware there is a $5 related shipping fee, with the "free" shipping.  Still, with ammo can included for 28 cents a shot; that's a pretty good deal for what has historically been very good ammo.

Forgive my ignorance, but why is 25 year old fmj ball ammo for ~28¢/rd considered a good deal?
Is it just the 'full power'/velocity?
Thanks

Pretty much.  I remember when this Malasian stuff came in back in the 90's.  It was amazing, way more powerful than most commercial stuff you could get, and yet way more accurate too.  This stuff shot exceptionally well, and was dirt cheap.  It was IMI class ammo, yet even better.  I also remember it dried up pretty quick, once everyone figured out how good it was.

Neat to see it back.  I'm tempted - but it's not the 1990's anymore, and they're price point isn't what 55 FMJ was in the 1990's either.  Also, I don't do well with misleading promotions.  "Free Shipping!" combined with a required $5 shipping charge, is not "free shipping".

It's .25/rd shipped if you have a Prime membership.

If you have state sales tax, they're collecting it now. All the major companies are.

The problem I’ve had with the ammo price search engines is the places with the good prices aren’t that good when you add in their crazy shipping costs. I think they do it on purpose to get to the top of the list of best prices, then you jump through all the hoops to get the final price and it’s not so good. Some make you make an account before you get the final price. By all means, check out ammoseek, but if you find the same thing I did, try SGammo. Pretty consistent decent pricing with fair shipping cost.
