Try it anyway.  I ordered 1k for $254, so 25.4 cents per round. That's the best deal I've ever gotten on decent quality brass cased .223.

Dunno why some have problems with this ammo, it's always been GTG for me (though a bit on the hot side).

9mm for 15 cents a round, delivered!  ($150 for 1000 rounds)

http://palmettostatearmory.com/independence-115gr-9mm-fmj-aluminum-case-ammo-100-round-box-ial9115100.html

This stuff is the same as CCI blazer, or Federal Aluminum case sold at WalMart.  I haven't seen it this cheap in 10 years.  This would be like buying it at Walmart for $6.93 a box plus tax.

There's a .05 cent per round rebate now, minimum of 100 rounds. After rebate, comes out to $239.50 per 1K, before shipping.

Looks like it would be $265.50 with shipping.

Brownells has Norma Tac 223 800rds on sale for $242.99 use coupon code LDN to make it $222.99 with free shipping.  From what I have read this is Geco 55gr. with Norma brass headstamp.  Nice thing is Geco 55gr. is accurate and this is more than $.02 cheaper per round.

Not too happy with Brownells right now.  Went to use their updated code yesterday, which was $35 off with free shipping on $300 order, for this.  But the code didn't actually work, because it didn't take off the shipping.  Now their "live chat" bot, is say oh that didn't apply to ammunition.  That's crap, it never said that anywhere.

I really hate companies that do deceptive promotions like that, and just try to sneak that crap into the check-out bill.

This is a good round, depending on your uses. It will kill a deer, but fragments a bit to much for my liking. Makes a good varmint round tho. The Gold Dot is a better bullet, but is a bit slower than the SSA. For home defense, I think it would do well.

Came to $245.45 shipped for me, after MIR.

Is there a free shipping code you can stack with the 10% code?

My bad. I didn't realize the free shipping disappeared. It's now $270 + $30 shipping = $250 after MIR.

I got a case last week for $240 shipped after MIR rebate. Its still not a bad deal tho.

Ammunition depot has Federal 556 and 223 ammo, XM193, XM855 for about $326/k free ship with a mail in rebate till end of August now December 2017, about $50/k rebate (varies by box or case size).

Ends up about $280/k shipped, give or take.

Pretty good deal, IMHO.

Rebate form:
https://www.federalpremium.com/downloads/promotions/FP1417_AE5.56and223promo_web_f.pdf

Edit: I called the rebate number. For ammo sold in cases but only listed in the 20 rd box UPC list, send one UPC per case from the case box and they'll know how many rounds you bought from the invoice to figure the rebate. You don't have to cut 25 UPCs from the little boxes in each case.

It's pretty rare.  At $1/rd it would be my go to 5.56 ammunition.  At the $3/rd I regularly saw it for, I went with cheaper.  I think production costs are high enough that even if it becomes commonly available it will be priced around $1/rd.

The Federal 223/5.56 Rebate is now live again until the end of December.  They also doubled the max rebate per household from $200 to $400 so now it is 8 cases all together.

That makes it a tough choice for me because I need to stock up on some and it is a toss up between Federal/Independence or paying a little more to get CBC/Magtech M193.  I will probably just end up with some of each.  I have never had any problems with Independence and love the extra velocity but it still puts me off from stocking it too heavy since many others have had issues with blown primers etc.

It might just be me but it seems like the prices of all Federal 5.56 have crept up a little since this rebate first began.  All other ammo prices seem to be lower then it by a fair amount at most places.  There are still a couple places that have decent pricing though and from a little calculating it appears you can get Independence for about $250ish shipped after rebate, and AE193 for about $270-275ish.  CBC is about $285ish without rebate.  For those looking for mostly shooter grade stuff the Independence is probably the best way to go at the moment but for stacking deep per long term perhaps CBC is the way to go.

Keep watching Brownells and SlickGun's.  I just picked up another case of NORMA for 28 cents/round.  This is the deal of the year - in terms of quality.  You CAN get .223 for a penny or two less - but that's about it, and this really is match grade ammo.  It's hot, it has 60 cent brass, and the stuff shoots amazing.  If you care about accuracy at all - get the NORMA; it's a steal.

Local Wal-Mart has the Independence M193 on sale for $5.00 a box at the moment so perhaps some of yours will too.  I almost bought all they had right then and will probably go back to get some but I wanted to make sure that I could still get the rebate if I got it from WM on sale.  Edited to add, I just called the rebate place and got through quickly to a nice helpful lady that told me it wouldn't be an issue getting the rebate on this.

I was also wanting to make sure you could combine orders from 2 seperate places on the same rebate and she said yes.  I was sure you could but I wanted to make sure since if you don't ask it can turn around and bite you sometimes.

I just wish there wasn't a gunshow this weekend I was trying to save my money for...makes it hard when I can get 1k rounds of M193 out the door for $215 after tax and rebate.
