Anyone shot this stuff? Have any problems with it?

Outstanding ammo.  I don't believe in SHTF but both their 193 and their 855 are great ammo.  Cases are good for reloading, too.

One of my favorites. I lucked up on 2 cases of it last year. No problems at all and it does 2" 10 round groups at 100 yds.

I bought 500 rounds at a funshow about a year or so ago. It was good and consistant, on par with LC XM193. It got shot up way too fast, wish there was more around to buy.

Are you saying you personally don't believe in SHTF ammo, or that you don't think this ammo is good for SHTF purposes?  Thanks.

I didn't see any reference to it on the ammo review page HERE.

I found a place that is selling this stuff for $320 per 1000 packed loose in cans.  Is that a good price?

Here are some pics.  I've never seen 1000 rounds packed loose in a .50 cal can.  Does the picture look like 1000 rounds?  I'd hate to have to count it out to make sure I was getting the full 1000.

Where'd you find the 1000 round loose pack? I'd love to get my hands on some.

I have a fewmags ready with this stuff but would love to get some more. Hard to find,.

Do the pictures shown look correct for IMI ammo?  I don't see any annealing.

1000 rounds loose used to be $105.00 from Southern Ammo.

Those were the days............

Yeah they were, but anyone know where I can get realtively cheap IMI ammo? Since I live in MA I have to have all my online ammo shipped to a FFL (if I can even find a site who is willing to ship ANYWHERE in MA). Ammotogo is good about it but so far they're the only ones. So if anyone knows where I can pick up some IMI 5.56 that will ship to MA I'd really appreciate it I've shot it a few times and I love the stuff but I can never find it around here.

OK, I have an opportunity to buy some of this stuff, but I'm not sure if it's a good price for it's condition.

Here's the description:

This is IMI 5.56x45mm (223) It is non-corrosive, boxer primed (re-loadable), brass case, 55 gr copper jacketed bullet. As you can see by the pictures some have discoloration and are somewhat dull with tarnish, some have small dings. This comes from being in 10,000 rds per crate bulk storage, but functions perfectly.

Everybody is saying how good TZZ is, but considering the age and the condition of this TZZ, I'm not sure if it might be better to spend more on XM193 or on the Centurion Arms stuff.

Centurion ammo is very good, all of it I have shot (about 2k rounds) is marked M193 on the casing so go with that if you want more M193, it'll probably save you some money compared to the TZZ.

Yes they were.  I've still got about 4K left.  About 3-5 failure to fire with good primer strikes/1000, but great training ammo.

Hell, the FTFs make great training exercises themselves!

Actually, I can pick up the TZZ $320 FTF, and I think Centurion is going for $340 plus shipping.  It sounds like you are saying the Centurion is a sure bet that I shouldn't have any problems as long as I properly store it.

Yeah its by far the cleanest ammo I have come in contact with. Almost 2000 rounds fired and no problems so far. But keep in mind Centurion is a .223 load and not true 5.56 M193, it shoots a little slower than the IMI from my understanding (something like 2750-2800FPS for the Centurion and 3000-3100FPS for the IMI TZZ). The Centurion does fine in my Armalite 20" HBAR though so you'll have no problems with it in an AR. Hope I was somewhat helpful but see what others say too

I used to worry about the age of ammo till I started shooting a M1 Garand.  I use 40 year old ammo and it goes bang every time.  Now I look at 20 year old 5.56 and think I got the new stuff

My opinion is its not authentic.  Someone got Israeli Brass and ammo cans and is looking for suckers to pass it off as authentic.  Look at the stuff.  IMI knows what their doing.  This is not their regular issued ammo.   True Israeli 5.56 is annealed.  Beware of the business world trickery my friend.

You want to see a picture of true IMI 5.56 than copy and paste this link in your browser:

Primer crimp hasnt been taken off. Might just be tumbled to remove tarnish. Looks GTG to me. Wouldnt get it if its comin from RGuns though. They didnt have a good review in this thread.
