That is a lot of projectiles! I just picked up a single 6000 pack 2 days ago and thought I was big ballin'! Very nice, I'm jealous.

Picked up a 720 rnd case of the Hirtenberg 7.62x51. The wooden crate was in such nice shape that I didnt want to open it so I bought a 360 battle pack to try out.

Dunno if I qualify, only shoot pistol and burn through the stacks like a forestfire...

.45acp 1.600 rounds
38sp 18.000 rounds (+10.000 mixed brand rounds)
357Mag 800 rounds
9mm Luger 360.000 rounds (probably more)

I keep loosing .45acp brass and cannot find any on the second hand market here, the dealers do not have any new brass either in 45acp...

Will complete with pictures asap

btw, really nice ammo-cans most u mates have. I just put double plastic zip bags and stack them in empty oil-drums/barrels and seal up when i hit 250kg on the scale. (worry the bottom cartridges will be deformed from to much weight. Do you think it would be safe to fill them completely full?)

No, they are for Springfield XD-9s, service and subcompact.

Hey I've got a growing stock of ammo. Mostly
of the big five 556, 308, 9mm, 45 and 22. Anyway here's
the pic of how I got it currently orginanized. I have several
ammo cans from when I was in the army. They would hold more
and be easier to move if you had too.

Well here's the but, how do you organize the different manufacture's
and so on with ammo cans?

I have been shooting once a week or so before it gets too cold to shoot anymore and I'm down to:

5.56: 4900 mostly m193 clone
7.62x39: 5100 mostly 124 gr fmj
7.62x51: 500 just bought an m1a and slowing building my stash up
9mm: 2900
.40: 50 I don't shoot this pistol and only have one box just because
.22 lr: 4000 rounds
12 gauge: 500
17 hmr: 100 just traded for this and have had a hard time finding ammo
7.62x54: 0 need to buy a couple spam cans so I can shoot my mosin

People have been bitchin' about ammo prices since before I joined the site.

I wish I had a nickle for every time someone told me that I should have waited for a better deal,
cause I paid too much for my ammo purchase.

I guess I am.

In storage I have 1000 of each:

M193 55gr
TAP T2 75gr
Fusion MSR 62gr (actually have 1200)

For other calibers:
9mm 124gr Gold Dot, 500 rounds
40 SW 180 Gold Dot, 250 Rounds
40 SW 180 Golden Saber, 250 rounds
12 gauge Hornady Critical Defense 00 buck, 250 rounds

Is that enough to be a "whore"?
This is accumulated since 2011, when I purchased my first weapon, a Springfield XD9mm.
Lol.

It's a range day today, and if UPS doesn't let me down with the restock today or tomorrow, I'll break the 6-digit barrier for centerfire ammo for the first time in my stash at home.   This is a big day in the life of TAP...

I use the "buy 1 box for the stash for every box you shoot" method and it has worked really well.  I get range time and training, plus build up a respectable stash for rainy days over time.

I've been been a "hoard-piler" for a long time, going bacl to the 70s. Not as crazy (sane) as other here, but I'll play a little..

35k .22lr. Mostly all high end stuff. Mini mags, Stingers, Velocitors, Yellow Jackets, etc. I used to have 66-ish k, but sold a lot to friends and family last yr. Some goes back to the late 70s early 80s.
5.56..a good bit. I've sorta lost count. All good brass stuff. A lot of that is old PMC M193, Squires Bingham, Eagle, etc. Then of course the newer 62gr stuff.
3+ k 7.62x51 Mostly ball (but 1k is commercial hunting rounds)
3+ k 7.62x39 ball
2+ k ea. of .9mm, .45acp. almost all high end +P,+P+ stuff. Plus Black Talons, old Silver Tips, etc.

Plus some other stuff.

Some better pricing then what we see today..

The L and M designate the dia of the round. .224, .223, etc.

Another less common 22lr round. The bullet will split off into 3 projectiles on impact.

some of the .44 mag. Note all the 1980s dates. That old now-disc Norma stuff is hot stuff. Rated at 1575fps from a 6" barrel.

Reason I've lost count of the 5.56.. I've been stockpiling it since the late 70s and been somewhat lazy the last 10yrs in keeping a running number in my head. I have about 2k at a relatives place...some out in the garage..some in the gun safe..some at another relatives place...and some hidden throughout the house. With a lot of that mixed in with other calibers. This is so if I ever get robbed(or confiscated, cause ya never know in the future)..hopefully they won't get 'all'(or even a good portion) of any one caliper. Hopefully I won't ever have to find out if this strategy will help or not. I'm thinking just over 5 degits in count tho. ..give or take lol.

That seems like a lot of work. Doesn't that take some of the fun out of it?

Don't get me wrong, I would love to know how many rounds of each caliber I possess, it would just be too much like work for me.

I do the spreadsheet thing, but not anywhere near accurate to the individual round. I keep it accurate to the nearest 1k or so. Per caliber.

I must have the opposite of OCD as I have no clue how much I have but I know it is a lot as the shelving unit I have some of the ammo on is sagging and I'm running out of room to put the stuff.

Note, I've been building my ammo fort over 25 years and ammo used to be a whole lot cheaper.

Yes, they should have been the same,
I did not post actual data, things were changed, items had '1' inserted as to not have 'div by 0' errors......
In my haste to create sample data, I did not check my work.

However, my OCD compelled me to correct it.

ETA: Apparently there are some people more OCD than I am.
Perhaps not more, I had to edit the post due to my OCD.
