I know a linear comp reduces concussion vs say a comp or brake okay. But for a pistol where I am trying to keep short as possible, yet as accurate as possible with best possible ballistics. My question is would it not make better sense to use a longer barrel with a thread protector vs a shorter barrel with something like a Kaw Valley comp with a shorter barrel to get the same overall length? I love the comp looks but I'm planning to mostly cover the barrel with handguard anyway. And I don't want something as heavy as a Flaming Pig or Krink. So my question really boils down to, does a linear comp really accomplish anything over just a barrel with a thread protector on it?

I put a thread protector on my 5 inch barrel to test fire when i built it.
It now has a YHM Phantom on it and i don't notice a difference.

9 mm  doesn't have the concussion like a 556 has.

Put a can on it and call it a day, best of all worlds.
