Hey guys.  Just wanted to share the final product of my build, (minus the can I plan on adding to it next year).

RRA 10.5 upper (barrel cut down to 5.1 inches
Brownells short muzzle brake (5.56 drilled out for 9mm)
Strike industries cobra foregrip
InForce weapons mounted light
Eotech 512 holographic
DDLES small frame complete glock lower
Wolff Extra power spring
7 quarters buffer spacer
Tac con 3mr trigger
Hera dual mag clamp

Video    https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=759175167462648&l=5465956457022718080

The target is from a few mag dumps.  With controlled single shots, I was able to keep all shots inside of a quarter at 12yards.

You need to tack on another $200 to that build to truly finish it.

Looking at the target, I guess you didn't have any cycling problems.  Very nice build!

I could - all i need to add a little bit of length. I know its not 9mm, but you get the idea.

FWIW, your setup is badass!

It's only a couple inches forward of the magwell.  Might as well just save $200, run no VFG and hold onto the magwell.

This build has had zero cycling issues with a few thousand rounds through it counting it's life as a 10.5 inch upper.  Regarding tax stamps,  I can't possibly justify neutering my AR's in legalities on what I am allowed and not allowed to do with them.  As the build is now, it fits perfectly in my laptop back pack for discrete legal concealed carrying since it's a "pistol".  I've considered adding a Sig brace so I can shoulder it a little higher for a slightly better cheek weld, but as it is now, it's controllable and comfortable at the ready.

Very nice gear. I'd like to have one someday . I agree with tax stamps. Can't take them anywhere without getting harassed. Where did you get the mag coupler? I want one for my latest project.

Here's the link for the mag clamp.

The backpack is a standard stocked item at Target.  It has plenty of padding on the bottom on the inside with a very thick leather like strong material on the outside.

Overall length is 20inches even, with the weapons light mounted.  From the end of the muzzle to the rear of the buffer tube is just under 20 inches.  Unloaded it's 5.2 lbs and loaded with both magazines it's 7.8 lbs

Did you have to do a lot of work to get it cycle right or did it work straight out of the box?

Link Posted: 8/20/2014 3:59:19 PM EDT
[#18]
It worked straight out of the box after I stopped replacing my broken bolt catches. The top of the bolt catch didn't clear the bolt even after proper machining to clear the glock magazine feed lips. If I replace the bolt catch, it will have to be trimmed down to clear the bolt. I've yet to get the lrbho to work properly so I removed it all together.

No it did not. The last round BHO has been so unreliable for me, holding the bolt open randomly through round counts, that I removed it all together.  If I had one and only complaint to make about the entire build, that would be it.
