I was thinking more along the lines of the length of the spring/travel of the BCG.

The buffer tube will fit and you might be able to use a carbine length spring but you will need a heavier buffer. Depending on your spring/buffer combo you might want to use some kind of spacer the limit the BCG travel so it doesn't slam into the bolt catch and break it.

I'm using a Spikes ST-9X buffer which is around ~1" longer/8.5oz and a stock carbine spring and it works perfect in my SBR. |
