Just got into the 9mm ar,I'm going to stock up on some mags,what do you carry your spare  mags in,Im looking at a reproduction Thompson bag or something along those types.

I'm assuming you're talking UZI style mags for your carbine. I'll go out on a limb and say buy yourself an IDF UZI  magazine carrier.....
I like them better than "modern " 9mm carrying systems because the snap is nearly silent vs noisy Velcro openers. Plus they're dirt cheap.

Another alternative is the WWII STEN mag carrier.
