THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
Looking at both of these, there is only a $30 difference between the two...

SPARC http://www.opticsplanet.com/vortex-sparc-red-dot-sight-sprc.html
I'm planning on using this for my CMMG M4-LE, or on a 5.56 AR, or get one of each (or two of the same)

Any opinions on the StrikeFire? It actually has more reviews than the SPARC in several places (amazon)

I really like my strikefire, but If the option is available, get both.

I have Strikefires on both of mine. They are great, a lot of our die-hard aimpointers here are switching over to them becaue of cost and Vortex is an OUTSTANDING company to deal with.

Strikefires are really good especially that palmetto has them on sale for $119.99 plus free shipping. Coupon code is strike. Also look at primary arms as well as they have some decent red dots for cheap

The Strikefire looks sweet! I have a SPARC on my 22lr though and am very pleased with it.

I just bought my 2nd AR. I also just received a CMMG .22 conversion kit. I have the Strikefire on my first AR and love it EXCEPT for one thing. The damned on/off button. I don't care what case I carry it in it gets turned on while heading to the range, heading home and once it got bumped in the safe. I carry spare batteries but I hate to have to keep buying new ones. Do the later models had a "push and hold" ON button ? Ya have to push and hold to turn it off, why not a push and hold ON button. Better yet just a simple damn switch !!!
Are the new ones any better ? I thought it turned itself off after sitting idle for so long but I guess not. It was still on the day after going to the range.

I also have a Strikefire and I agree the on off switch is the only thing I don't care for. I normally unscrew the battery cap so the Strikefire can't turn on unintentionally.

Both have the same on/off switch. I own both and love them both. Strikefire is on my 20" AR and my Sparc is on my Sig 556. Have been great, no matter how poorly I treat them.

I have 2 strike fires and love them both. Get the reddot only version, it is brighter from what I have heard.

I actually replaced 2 PA sights with these. For the little bit more money, they have been a better sight for me. Nothing wrong with the PAs, but these are better in my opinion.
O.K....I sold all my HKs, but I have to keep my Identity!

Great tip on a great price at Palmetto, thanks!

I think I'll go with the StrikeFire, and hope I don't hate the button pad / issues reported (reported similar on the SPARC)

UPDATE : Deal at Palmetto seems to be over (coupon code "strike" is not valid)

For those that own both the Sparc (2MOA) and Strikefire(4MOA).......are the "specs' accurate and the dot on the Sparc is indeed 1/2 that of the Strikefire?
Is the dot "round" or is it a bunch of dots (as if looking at the end of a raggedy bunch of fiber optic fibers not arranged well?

I love a tiny dot since the .22's are so accurate, large or blotchy dots are really annoying.

For the record, my favorites so far are the Bushnell Trophy and EOTech with their tiny and very round/solid dots (no fiber optic scatter)

Thx

Yes, my Sparc's dot is noticeabl;y smaller than my Strike fire... It also depends on what brightness setting you have it on. My strikefire is the red only version as well.

I'll have to try the "unscrew the battery cap" trick to over come the on/off switch deal. I like mine so well, otherwise, that I jumped on the PAS deal and ordered another. Should be here tomorrow. Thanks for all the input, guys.

Battery cap trick don't work. I unscrewed the cap and watched the green dot. It went our when the cap fell off. Oh well, will keep the battery in the cheek piece storage tube.
