DDLES Glock Lower (With there lower pack) EMOD Stock RMW 9mm DI Upper (Flat top). 11.5 inch Barrel with 5.5 inch Flash Suppresor (Will eventually be SBR'd). Samson 7.5 inch Evalution rail. Ron said it should be 4-6 weeks build time (He needed to get the lower and such) To run the Upper on the DDLES lower, he just needed to mill the bolt I believe he said. I probably could have gotten the parts and built it, but I do not have access to a mill. He offered to build and mill, so I said.. "Please, take my Money" |

In the same vein, i also put on a light weight AP Custom, carbon fiber tube to keep it simple since i don't need any junk hung off the barrel. A simple dot to cap it off and its good to go! Since it sits in top of a DDLES lower, i sent that along to Ron to take care of fitting and tuning everything together for proper feeding with the glock mags. I also tried a different grip (BCM Gunfighter) with this setup than i'm typically used to using. I'm finding that i like to keep the stock set short and the center of gravity closer to my body for faster transitions and the more vertical BCM grip seems more comfortable in that configuration than even my ergo, although it is kinda on the thin side. I'm gonna try to get it out to the range in the next couple days and start breaking it in; the next match is only a week or two away and so i hope she runs! https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-3GaMYr6EU-c/UA9vKEqS-jI/AAAAAAAAGGU/IpcAeGFGztM/s640/IMG_1241.JPG Decided to throw on an AFG as well; its much more comfortable than a plain tube and give you more purchase on the gun. https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-Vz2IY06PnTQ/UA9viqhuEWI/AAAAAAAAGG4/H1BXx9GwL0E/s640/upload_1000003E1061A7_2012.07.25%252C04%253A00%253A41%252C761_ABD726CC.jpg Very nice.... Waiting on my gun from Ron. The wait is killing me. It is everything in my power not to email him every day and bug him, but I know that wouldn't help all the parts coming in. It will get here when it gets here.... I just have to learn patience. (Besides, a 4-6 week build time isn't that long.... ETA: This is meant as I am impatient, not as any disrespest towards Mr. Williams. That's not that long a wait. Mine was completed in a reasonable amount of time so i dont doubt you'll have yours in no time. Ros is very great to talk to, very willing to talk about the project, entertain any request and answers all your questions. While i won't say i "pestered" him, however, i certainly had questions about the build which he would always get back to me promptly the next morning on. If i recall, you're getting the lower through him as well? That may be adding extra wait as the last time i spoke to DD themselves, the lowers were quite a ways out on production time. I didn't ant to add that sort of unknown wait so i found lowers in stock at a reseller and just sent that to Ron. Actually I just checked and it looks like DD has the simple glock lowers back in stock so maybe he'll be able to move forward on your build. |

The fed small pistol primers are way too soft with the floating firing pin. I've had a few slam fires when using them in the DI 9

Great to know. If all goes well I will have you build me one. Can you do it on a Mega mono upper? |

RMW,
Will your 9mmDI run in an upper made for 9mm with the short ejection door? Everything I've seen is a standard upper. I'm wanting a DI uppeer inspired by the old DOE 9mms with the short door and shell deflector on a A1 upper |

I can not speak for the 9mm but I do know that the 45 will work with the short pistol caliber ejection port door

One of the bullet 9mm dedicated uppers I have does not have the gas tube hole or does it have that little clearance pocket on the left side of the receiver for the bolt cam pin. Might want to check before you buy the upper, some don't seem to be usable with a di bcg. |
