Thank you Sir. The A2 SMG was north of 30k. At the same time last month, I also picked up one of 4 transferable factory built M16A2-E4's and a rare 621 M16A1, which is a M60 bipod mounted Hbar. The SMG and the A2E4 came from a 35year colt employees personal collection. The A2E4 was also north of 30k, but the 621 M16A1 was in the mid 20s. The three M16s were a birthday present to myself, but now I'm eating ramen noodle for the next month until my piggy bank fattens up again.

Dammit, I can't find a Lite 4.0 anywhere so I've held off ordering a barrel for my build. What length barrel is that?

I actually called Daniel defense to order this one. They said it was the last one on the shelf they had ever. I'm not sure if they can be found anywhere else. This was the colt barrel cut to 5". It has been 100%. I saw your thread on the build your looking at doing. I think the Samson rail would be good if you can't find the DD. Also having done the Hk sights I would go another route. They are okay but not as precise as others.

Home ground 9mm upper and a Form 1 freeze plug can. Surprisingly with 165gr sub-sonics, it's pretty darn quite.

Thanks!  The Sampson rail is looking more and more likely for my build. I've been using the HK sights on another pistol and I like them, but those DD sights are great.

AR15.com is killing my wallet.
I got a little drunk last month and was talking to the wife about AR pistols, she really likes my 300AAC pistol build but wanted one in 9mm and painted OD green for some reason.

Finally collected all the parts just waiting for the rain to let up so i can paint it, and the green laser and sights are her idea not mine.

All PSA parts other than the cheap china sights.

Well if finally stopped raining so i could paint the AR9.
The top is my Blackout for size comparison it is a 8.5 inch the 9mm is 10.5 inch.
Normally the blackout has a thor 336 on it but i moved it to one of my other AR's and slapped on a red dot so the wife can shoot it.

My two pistolas.

Top: YHM 9mm upper and CMMG MK-9 lower. 10.5" barrel. Hi-Lux TAC-DOT (surprisingly awesome for the price). Don't make fun of my little optic mount, it is only temporary.

Bottom: Seekins Billet upper and lower w/ Hahn bottom loading mag adapter. 7.5" barrel. Burris FFII. KAK Flash Can. YHM BUIS.

Both mags wrapped with paracord to make them look a little wider and I like the feel. Are there any issues with doing this?

Thanks! Also, I originally put a foam/rubber pistol tube cover over them (a 1.22" diameter tube fit just right with a little bit of elbow grease). Those two both have the foam under the paracord, so it is a little wider than just a layer of paracord. Two layers of paracord would be about the same though.

9mm Home Defense build

Lower:
Tennessee Arms Co. polymer lower
ProMag mag block
Ergo grip
9mm heavy buffer
pistol buffer tube
standard LPK
standard buffer spring

Upper:
CMT UPUR-4 Billet Upper- Slick Side With Dust Cover port
7" 1:9 barrel
Cobra Tactical 10" carbon fiber handguard
MagPul XTM handstop
LaserMax UniMax red laser kit
Inforce WML 200 lumen light

Hushed up with an AAC TiRant 9

Just recently finished it and haven't been to the range yet.  Got a couple different mags to test with it to see if any of them choke up on me.
Gonna put some 115 and 147 Georgia Arms through it to test.

Feedback, questions and suggestions always welcome.

You need an endcap to mount the MOE. On DI ARs, the endcap is wedged between a shoulder on the barrel and the gas block. But since a 9mm AR is blowback, you don't have a gas block or that shoulder. some folks have fabricated some one off solutions, but the juice probably isn't worth the squeeze. It's probably cheaper and less hassle to just use a free float handguard.

My first 9mm build project currently under way. Just waiting on the form 1 to come back to add the barrel & rail.

QC10 Glock small frame lower
QC10 Glock bolt
X Products side charging upper
Vltor receiver extension/EMOD
Blitzkreig hydrolic buffer & 9mm Spring
MIAD
Troy BUIS
Colt LPK

I am still searching for a 8.5" Noveske barrel for this build with no luck so far. Really wish Noveske would make another run of them! Sure would be nice if Geiselle would make a trigger that would work with 9mm also </a>

I am new to building This type of AR I would like to build a 7.5" barrel with a 7" carbine length MOE

This is kind of what I was thinking.  My buddy and I have been discussing it.

I am still searching for a 8.5" Noveske barrel for this build with no luck so far. Really wish Noveske would make another run of them! Sure would be nice if Geiselle would make a trigger that would work with 9mm also http://www.ar15.com/images/smilies/icon_smile_big.gif

I've got an ALG ACT trigger in my 9mm.  Works great and is really nice especially for the price.

Thanks for the heads up guys on the ALG ACT triggers. I've only used GI or Geissele in my ARs. What bolts are you guys using with the ACT triggers?

Glock-cut BCG from Macon Armory (Rudy is the big honcho there and is on this board as mad-machinist).
