Well since my last pictures didn't work, trying it again. Angstadt Arms carbine, Gibbz side charge upper, SLR 13" rail and titanium Comp, Trigger Tech adjustable flat trigger, ACE rifle length stock. And yeah, I left the back door open.

I was eyeballing those Dolos kits for this exact employment. Ultimately I just left it at the folding cheek rest.
How do you like it? |
|
|
[#10]
With no front sight to index, would one need the dolos on a dedicated 9mm?

View Quote If you have a gastube, the barrel stays, but it isn't "fixed". The gastube goes through the lug (there's a slot for it so the lug can rotate), but there's nothing really to hold the barrel into the assembly when it's loose. For the 300blk, I was thinking of doing a cookie cutter to sort of "brace" the other end. When I switched it to the 9mm, I figured it'd be easier to simply remove the barrel. So as long as you left enough room for the handguard to rotate (maybe 1/4") between the end of the rail and that sight, it'd work fine actually. I'm not buying another barrel anytime soon though. Amusingly, you can use Yankee Hill fore ends, but I tightened the one that came with it too much to get it off (though I haven;'t really cranked down, wasn't that important). A shorter rail would also give the room. And yeah, I already have one of those sights on my SBR: |

I only have about 150 rounds through it so far, but plan on shooting twice that tomorrow. I haven't had a chance to shoot it since I installed the echo trigger - and my guess is I'll be eating up a lot of rounds. |

I was using it to make sure the handguard was lined up right before screwing it down and just didn't bother moving it. :) I shot it just fine, since I wasn't putting it to my cheek anyway. |

View Quote That may be really close to being flush, it may only stick out 0.25" from under the hand guard. Mine pictured above is a 7" rail with a 5.5" barrel and the Kak flash can only sticks out 0.75". Should work it will just be really close. |

Finally got my lower in after waiting about 8 months for it.
Good thing is I got a custom serial number for it so I could submit my Form 1 for it back in November. I have all parts for it and will start to assemble after I get the lower engraved later this week. Matrix Side Charging 9mm Upper Attached File Attached File |
