Quick question. If you remove the gas key and the bolt cam pin, will the bolt carrier rotate 360* inside the upper?

If the upper is off the lower, yes. If the upper is on the lower, probably not.

You can test the the second part. See if the hammer nose sticks up far enough to catch on the carrier as you rotate it by reaching through the ejection port.

Thanks.

I love to test things and figure out how things work and how parts interact with eachother. But I didn't want to remove a staked gas key.
