Well this is a new one for me......
I was under the impression that 90 % of the forged MilSpec lowers are A2 type. |

Check out McKay Industries; they offer an A2 lower. I had one on an A2 build and it was nice.

You have the older a2 style lowers like this
Notice the difference where extra material in the back was added over an a1. This is a modern lower. 
It isn't a big difference but there is one. |

Earlier this year, there was a group of us that ordered custom-made lowers (49 of them) from Black Creek Precision that were marked M16A2 and M16A4 as well as having SAFE, SEMI, and BURST.
M16A2  Attached File Attached FileM16A4  Attached File Attached FileNow, anyone wanting a lower like these will have to place an order for 25 or more in order to have them made. |
