Is the color about the same as a Colt? I'm not building a perfect clone by any means; but I also don't want furniture thats cheap or looks out of place on a standard A2.

I did the same thing. It's a great build and WW really nailed it. Everything was in great shape when I got it but there is one issue I have:
the heat shields inside the A2 handguards are painted black when all the A2s I had in the marines were bare metal. |

They are adequate handguards, but the nicest handguards i have used are from cavalry mfg.
Their handguards are a step above the usgi stuff, they fit tighter, and have a matte appearance. Really good stuff. If you want a better fit anf finish go Cav MFG. I have some OD green guards on another rifle and the seam between the two handguards is not closed and tight. Looks funky but functional. I intend to jump for another pair of Cav HGs. |
