If you are not going to build them, then sell them

Sometimes you must be thankful when the answer is so clear:

Colt model 604 clone (USAF M16)
Colt M16A2 clone
Colt model 727 clone (M16A2 carbine)

And you sell the leftover A2 upper to fund parts for the other builds!

There, easy

I would have bought that beat up A2 upper from you.  I was looking for a beater so I wouldn't feel bad about paining it.  Instead all I could find was a nice one.  That gray Colt one is pretty!

I would build an M16A2 and an XM4, (727).  I built my FN upper A2 3 years ago.  I just finished my mutt XM4 this spring.  I really like the XM4 and it shoots great.  I bought an old DPMS 14.5 1/9 barrel 6 years ago,(no longer made),  bought the A2 upper off the EE, UK manufacture, an Anderson lower, PSA LPK and used a BCG I had from 7 years ago.  The furniture were Colt skinny HG and N1 stock.  I bought both before they were sought after.  I found the receiver ext on Ebay for $21, it is exactly like a Colt 4 position and I believe it is.

ETA:  UK=Unknown

I am looking for a decent A1 upper to swap out an A2 upper I have on a retro carbine. IMO the A2 upper is wasted on a carbine.

I like modern A2 builds.

I can convert this one back and forth with spare furniture when I am feeling Mil Specy.

My vote M16A2 clone and A2 Carbine clone. 80% lower for the M16A2 and find a Colt Carbine lower for the A2 Carbine to make them as authentic as possible.
