I was given an old Essential Arms A2 upper and commercial fiberlite stock and have an old roll mark Aero lower I've never built.  So I bought a lightweight 14.7 mid length barrel to give it a Colt Cammando look without stamping it. I'm waffling between painting it gray or leaving it black.  Since it's not an actual clone it doesn't really matter but did Colt make a Commando model with an A2 upper and if so we're they grey or black?

Make it the color you like, I know for sure the A2 uppers with field sights were grey, and I'm sure
the full A2 commandos were too.

Personally, grey really makes it stand out for me.
