I am Mike from Germany and I need your help for a M16A2 (Model 727) Carbine project.

I would like to add a front side sling swifel, but I would like to use the older type which was made for the A1 and A2 profile barrel.

I would prefer an original Colt part.

I am hoping to get the later (M4) version of the assy here in Germany, but there is no way in hell to get the older clamp that can be used on both barrel typs (looking like a dog bone) here.

Can I use the older clamp on the current assy? Any information where I might get the older clamp?

Thank you! But I am not looking for this current version. As English is not my mother language I may not have said it clearly that I am looking for the older style which should be correct for a M16A2 Carbine.

Yes, the "dog bone" can be used on the newer assembly.

I have two of the newer M4 styled ones.  Both taken from Colt 6920's.  Youre welcome to one if needed...
