Old school Colt AR-15a2 HBAR Sporter. This was the very first AR I ever had. My father purchased this for me in 87 for my 16th birthday. I have a very cool dad. I remember when he brought it home like it was yesterday. Still completely factory and in as new condition. I still have the 86 copy of SOF magazine that had an article in it about the then new M16a2. We had to have one after that. I love this rifle.

That looks like it's still brand new. You probably can't build a quality A2 like that one, now for what he paid for it back then. Just Don't Ever Get Rid Of It !!! |

I have owned over 20 AR rifles over the years and this one will always be in my collection. They come and go but like the Marines say, "this one is mine". I will pass it on to my son when he turns 16 in five years.

Very nice, always refreshing to see an original colt A2/slab side hbar
 I have the exact same rifle as yours....except I converted to a oldschool tactical carbine set up if that makes any sense
