Got bored this week on my weekend so I decided to assemble an A2 clone of what I carried at boot camp and early on in my Marine Corps career.

LMT Complete lower with a cav arms buffer tube and rifle length buffer.
A1 CAV arms stock
LAR Grizzly blemished a2 upper (bought it years ago for 40$)

Well, time to acquire parts. Someone mailed me an a2 pistol grip and an A2 stock since the shop sold me an A1 stock ( ).

A) Where can you acquire complete, correct barrels?

Parts I'm missing as of now:

BCG
Barrel
F Marked FSB
Handguards
A2 FH
A2 upper parts kit.
Drill instructor to scream "Harder, faster..."

Isn't the F marked FSB for flat top uppers only?

I miss mine too, even though basic is basically the only time I got to carry one.  NIce clone

Your boot camp A2 rifle had an A1 stock and an F marked FSB?

Nicely done. I am embarking on an A2 build myself. I built one several years ago, but sold it to a friend of mine that was wanting it. With almost three dozen ARs, I did not miss it. For a couple years now, I have had the bug to build another one. Well, a few days ago, a buddy of mine gave me an A2 upper. That got the fire lit, so I am getting started. I have the LPK already, as well as the gas tube/pin, BCG, CH, A2 FH, and pistol grip. I just ordered a "Stealth" lower from PSA. I really wanted a CMMG lower, but I was having a hard time finding a CMMG stripped lower. Having this PSA Stealth lower is going to work out much better. I will getting a 20" A2 1/7 Gov't profile barrel assembly from Windham Weaponry. Right now, I am trying to source a good used A2 stock and handguards. Not really wanting a new set since I am going to do a BFPU finish one the metal. I also have to replace the port door and the FA on the upper. I am hoping to have this done by May.

BTW, I used the M16A1 when I went in back in 1978.

Semper Fi.

Bushmaster lists complete A2 front ends, but they show out of stock right now.

Green Mountain has stripped A2 profile barrels in either 1:7 or 1:8 but you'd have to get the FSB attached.  F height is incorrect for an A2.

BCM also has a 20" A2 profile stripped barrel but it also shows out of stock.

Check out Windham Weaponry for a complete A2 front end and any small parts you need.  Fulton Armory for the rear sight.  Rock River for a correct A2 stock kit.  And BCM for the BCG.  These dealers had the right gear at good prices on my recent A2 build.  Mine was also a "boot camp rifle".  Guess I'll do a post on mine tonight

Ugh, somehow they sold me an A1 stock when I specifically asked for an A2. No big deal, I am working on an A1 also. I meant the regular FSB.

Sourced a barrel, sight assembly, gas tube, flash hider...only thing I need to get is a set of handguards.

Will wait until the next gunshow to find a beat up pair.

There is no problem using an F fsb. With a2. You might have to click the front down a little. That's what I had to do and it's spot on.

Have all the parts, going in for assembly tomorrow.

Can't wait!

Haven't had an A2 since...2011.

I have one for the A22 that I'm building.  Very nice barrel.
