I've been an off and on member for years but cannot get my password that I forgot to reset so... new account ...

Does anybody sell a m16a2 butt stock in desert tan? All I have been able to find is airsoft Crap.

Thanks

Thanks for your reply. It is composed of glass filled nylon . Does anyone know if this material is as strong as the current m16a2 stock in use by the miLitary?  I am wanting a rifle stock for butt stock strikes in a worst case scenario.

I also found this. Again I want to make sure the materials are mil spec  however . Anyone have experience with either of these stocks ?

I just sold one of those Cav Arms stocks (in desert tan, fwiw). I didn't like it. Didn't feel as nice, nor as durable as the original A2 stocks. Purely subjective, though, and just my opinion.
I didn't like the A2 rifle handguards either. They were wider than Colt handguards, and they didn't feel right in my hands.

I want A2 furniture in tan also, think I'm going to have to break out the Krylon on my Colt furniture to get what I want.

Kinda reinforced my fear. I think I may take a risk on the utg stock. It says it is reinforced polymer which is what the a2 stock is.

I would be careful using the AR15/M16 for Butt-Stroking, as the area where the Receiver Extension (Buffer Tube) and the Receiver mate, is not exactly a really strong spot.  And if jarred really hard

could cause your rifles failure, when you may need it the most.

It's not like the M1 or M14 where you have a Steel Receiver that sit's in a strong dense Wood Stock with a steel plate on the end of it.

Probably just going to do od green rock river stock. It's impossible to find a quality tan stock. Odd that no reputable manufacturer makes a solid option in tan.

I'd just paint one to your desired color and call it a day.

Never has been a decent A2 rifle stock in anythiing other than FG or gray/ black.   Probably never will be either at this point.   Yunz can always call Earl Schibe for $29.95 !

Krylon or Rustoleum Fusion if you can find it.  If you use Krylon on AR furniture that is plastic, PLEASE use the plastic primer first.  I found out the hard way on that when a fresh paint job came off with the scratch of a finger nail.

Of course there is a USGI A2 tan stock (sort of).  It comes from KAC on the SR25/Mk11/M110 rifle series and adjustable for length of pull and only costs $$$$$ if you can find one.

M110 stock

Bought one of the Leapers / UTG tan A2 stocks. So far it seems like good quality. The box states it was made in Taiwan.

That looks about the same quality as my Bushmaster A2 rear stock.

How close is that Leapers stock to the GI version  ?   Same length, fits up an A2 buttplate OK ??  Does it have the foam filled interior?   If it's good enough, I might have to build  an FDE  A2 twenty incher.....Baghdadi  Grade !

I may purchase the utg . Also plan on buying the 7075 buffer tube for strength.

I haven`t mounted it yet. My first impression is the stock is about the same quality as a Colt factory stock. It appears to be foam filled from the heft of it.  I don`t know if the other components meet mil spec or not. So far I`m pretty pleased.

That's what it looks like in the second photo.  Seems the cap is a tread protector and holds the recoil spring/buffer in for shipping.

My A2 stock, which I'm 99% sure that it s DPMS, almost every little detail is just like that Leapers stock except for that "cap".

The Colt CS stock assembly I bought last year came with a cap like that. It's certainly handy for holding everything together during shipping. I don't have to mail a buffer/spring/extension very often, but I sure could have used something like that a couple of times.

Exactly what it does. Make sure you point it in the direction of the floor when removing. That spring and buffer shoot right out when it`s removed.

Now that I can see the photos,  (they get auto-blocked at work)  I can see that the back door and latch will need to go.  I'd also agree on replacing the RE tube with a Colt 7075 piece.  Same with spring and maybe buffer too. Looking forward to getting this part;  I already have the MOE FDE grip and Cav. Arms FDE rifle handies !

Finally got the stock installed on a Colt 6700.I actually think the UTG A2 spacer is higher quality than the Colt part. The Colt part was plastic. The UTG part looked and felt like aluminum.

I purchased the utg. Stock quality is great. Going to replace the plastic trap door however. I'll post pics once I get it back from the smith.

We hit plenty of things in boot camp and they never broke.

7075 lower receiver + 7075 receiver extension + nylon A2 buttstock = Buttstroker's delight.  This weapon is a lot tougher than you might think...especially if it's made right !
