I've got enough parts to put together something similar to a 727, if not a perfect clone. Even though I understand that F-marked FSB's are not kosher, I've got a nice GI Colt M4 bbl and I don't feel like pulling the FSB to swap for a non-F piece. That said, were M4 handguards used on any versions of these rifles? I've got those, along with skinny 6 and 7 hole handguards in the parts bin.

M4 handguards are correct for later, export M4A2 style guns.

Skinny 6 hole h/gs look best. That's what I used.

Pics when finished.

Best, BC

I have Colt Skinny 6 holes for my 727 that's in the works, Colt N1 Fiberlite Stock, and an A1 grip. Thats's just the furnature I went with, I believe an A2 grip would be more correct but I prefer the A1 PG.

Hey, HipSh0T, I got an A2 PG that I ground the finger bump down.  It almost gives the appearance of an A1 PG, it's yours if you want it.

It really doesn't look too bad either, I was surprised.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I have on tap. I prefer the A1 PG, and could see that finding its way on to a real 727.

I'm thinking I might do the same on my 723, I really like that large A1 grip I got from you, unless I find a similar A2 I may use it.

Cool! After 3 years of looking and putting WTB Ads up, I scored 2 XM Gray Colt Delta Rings for $46.00 shipped on the EE yesterday. (Price was for the both of them.) I can't wait to make my XM177E2 100% correct and my 727 90% correct.

What are 6 hole skinny hand guards?  All my small carbine hand guards have 7 holes.

The older Colt and commercial copies of the slim HG's have 6 holes.  The HG's in the picture below came off a Canadian Colt/Diemaco C8.
