Did you find a source for skinnier handguards on the Middy? It seems most have those ridiculously large handguards.

top rifle is the coolest, but i too have a middy A2 with a fixed stock. kind of the perfect fit. not stubby but not A2 20 in. long either. great go-to k.i.s.s. rifle.

Thanks, it's funny how I couldn't wait to ditch my carry handle uppers to have a flat-top and longer forearms etc. After reading threads here and on the Retro pages I had to go back to where I started. I still have one or two flat-tops but I really like my handles. The middy has a Fulton A1 stock on it and it shoulders like a champ. |

I did something similar to my Colt Sporter Lightweight. They originally come with fixed stocks.
Slapped on a collapsible stock from a LE6920, 6 postion buffer tube, and the fat M4 style handguards. I replaced the goofy looking shroud type flashhider in the picture and put on the original A2 bird cage style ![]() |
