Pretty much says it all. I'm going to nominate JarHead, followed by Black Hawk Down. What else can you all come up with?
Never get tired of seeing that sexy A2 handle. |
|
I was going to say Jarhead as well. Lots of good shots of it in there. I like the Black Hawk Down scene when they were at the range.

Screen used A2 prop from Black Hawk Down- $259. I don't have any connection to the seller, but I have always heard that they are reputable. http://www.propstore.com/product-Rubber-M16-A2-Rifle.htm |

Waaay too hammered for me......Too much hammer and not enough Alpha Deuce.

Blackhawk Down.
Lots of good A2 shots in Jarhead, but something about that film just didn't sit right with me. |

I've never seen this, but I will be watching now! |

I think they had A2s in the Battle Los Angeles. I told my GF it was based on a true story so she would go see it. 5 minutes in she claimed I lied about it? Women...

I will see your two movies and raise you a "Three Kings."
I'd probably say Three Kings, Jarhead and Blackhawk down, in that order. |

Check netflix for a show called Jeremiah. Post apocalyptic stuff. Much A2 and M9 action.

Heat, if we're considering the 733 an A2. Wes Studi's character uses an A2 in the downtown shootout also, so "Heat" can be included here. |

Probably not "the best" but I like Courage Under Fire. It had only one A2.

Indeed, the carry handle IS the A2 system, no matter what else it might be !
|

Black Hawk Down was the first one I thought of also then Jarhead and Three Kings. I have seen them used in others but these are the three best I believe. Also, they were used in several TV shows including Jericho and a show with that rebel kinda guy from 90210 and the son from The Cosby Show. I forget the name of it but it is still showing on the SyFi channel from time to time.

The Marines in "The Rock" carried A2's so did the Marines in "Rules Of Engagement" with Samuel L. Jackson.

And speaking of BHD....If you don't have the three disc deluxe set, for shame! This extra stuff is at least as good as the movie,
and the movie is tuff to beat. The helicopter landing sequences are worth the price of the set alone...especially the ones where the little birds land right on top of the camera! Usually don't go ape-shit over this extra stuff, but this is must have! |

If you look at the carry handle and the rear sight, on an A1 it will just have a circle. On an A2 it will have a little square with an embedded knob underneath it where they changed the sight to be adjustable for both windage and elevation. If you look at the pic of Wes Studi, then compare it to the earlier pics from BHD, you'll see the difference.
ETA: The A1 also has an oblong thumb press on the forward assist, the A2 changed it to be round. You can also see that on the photo from Heat. |

Just out of curiosity. I read the blurb, and saw this: Recent changes to the violent crime reduction bill mean that this particular prop can only be sold to customers who reside outside the UK. Generally speaking, it is illegal for a resident of the UK to buy this item.
Holy freaking shit on a popsicle stick, you can't even own a rubber gun in the UK any more! |

Fucking loved that movie! Especially liked the part where the dude was driving that reporter and she all of a sudden broke down and starts talking about the futility of being out there and the private just breaks down and says something like: "Poor fuckin' ducks!" LMAO!!! |
