L-R Colt 6520 , M16A2 clone, 12.5 A1/C7 SBR Waiting on a side sling swivel and H3 buffer for the 12.5, the Brownells barrel is over gassed. |

Initially posted this in the retro pic thread but think it's more appropriate here.
I got lucky when I visited one of the more remote gun stores (read as gun theme park) in southern MN. Walked out with 3 Police trade in Colt 6520's with Surefire 6P's and PRI Goosenecks from a neighboring hometown PD, for under $500 each. 1 to be kept as is. 1 to be made into a somewhat Blackhawk Down clone when I get back on leave again and one was gifted to my brother on his birthday.

First Ar15 build, I just need a new 1/16 roll pin for the rear sight as i broke it in half installing it, that and forward assist spring

Got me one of those older original Japanese 4x optics for the carry handle (apparently from one of the companies that made it for Colt) but this one has the rare illumination feature - seems to sit pretty with this build

 Attached FileMy brother and I have consecutive serial PSA Snek lowers and we decided to build M16A2 clones. Picked up this LMT "blem" upper for $85 from Brownells. I can only find one or two spots where the anodizing is jacked up. I have a rear sight assembly, birdcage, barrel nut on the way. Hoping to have it finished before the snow falls. |
