Not much longer than a 605 with that super long suppressor they used to put on it in Vietnam.

Bushmaster LE/Security Surplus.

Cleaned her up, swapped out the factory bushmaster skinny handguards for a set of skinny Colt handguards that I already had painted. I'm going to paint the rifle eventually so I figured I'll keep an unmolested set around. I also ground off the finger rest on the pistol grip.

Been a long time since I've seen a set of PVS-5s!  Noticed those have the battery compartment modified to AA and not the the old hockey puck battery.  Used to drive across the Jordanian desert with PVS-5s (Fast Support Vehicle ie 4 seat dune buggy) back in 85'.

I had a set issued when I was in the 82nd in the early 90's. We had the 7a's at that time too. I love my PVS-5's, they are the C model, and have been modified to accept the AA battery, the military battery and CR-123a. A 2032 button battery will work with a spacer. Really, any button battery will work as long as it is close to the same diameter. I found this out one day when one of the military batteries went dead and I didn't have AA's or a CR123. I took the spare 2032 battery out of one of my red-dots and kept the dead military battery. It powered right up and ran for several hours.

I just finished this today, after spending a while hunting through my spares boxes for small parts and getting lucky enough to find everything I needed.  It's a Delton barrel on an RRA A2 upper and Anderson lower.

Here is a little carbine I build several months ago. I just never got around to posting it here. It has a repurposed DPMS lower receiver, a Model 1 Sales CAR stock assembly, and a Model 1 Sales upper assembly.

A ballistic arms sale on the 14.5" barrel and your pics are pretty much is why I built this A2.

Did a couple small updates to my 727 build.  I swapped out the matte black unknown brand skinny 6 hole handguards for a set of Colt shiny 6 hole handguards.  I also swapped out the standard castle nut for a CAR style lock ring.  I'm pretty much done with it now, the only thing that really bothers me is the extended A2.  It's longer then necessary, even my BCM A2X on a different rifle is slightly shorter and still makes it to 16.1".  If I ever decided to swap it out I'll probably do a standard A2 with a spacer and peel washer.

There is just enough of the lug exposed for the bayonet to lock on.

Slapped this together on the cheap; Anderson lower $65, Stag lpk $65, A2 stock/Colt M16 bcg I had already, Surplus Emco Barreled A2 upper off the EE $225. Had the itch to build an M16A2 clone pretty badly! Scored 380 rounds of Federal 556 for $60 at a pawn shop to break her in!

It's a 1.5-4.5x VX-1 with a CDS elevation knob and #1 reticle installed by their custom shop.

I wanted something versatile, fast, and still potentially accurate that did not require batteries. I like it. One of the knobs is set up for M855.

I wanted something tactical, but not too tactical...tacticool circa 1999, perhaps?

It used to have an rifle stock/round handguards, but I like this stuff better.
