And in other news, ARMS Inc. brought the classic #16A mount back so there's a possibility I might pick up an Aimpoint and #16A for the time being. I definitely want an ACOG in my stable but if I kinda like the idea of having both to swap out, because this is one handy little carbine. So without further delay, I give you my version of a late '80s, early '90s Delta CAR-15. This is a blend between the CAR-15 featured in the old BF1942 video game mod Desert Combat, and what we know was carried in Mogadishu by TF Ranger. And for the record, I also have the AEM5 suppressor, but having had a 12.5" carbine setup previously using it, I decided I wanted something a little shorter and lighter while still maintaining a somewhat plausible concept clone based on the time-period. https://i.imgur.com/JMHXs5P.jpg In this photo, you can see where I shaved the bayonet lug. I also had to space the Weaver barrel mount down a little using a short piece of stainless round stock. I also replaced the socket-head screws (size 8/32" x 1.25") to mount it to the FSB like this. https://i.imgur.com/AIKfkhk.jpg https://i.imgur.com/8yJnIgH.jpg https://i.imgur.com/ZbwGv02.jpg View Quote @RTUtah what in the actual fuck. Hey fellas I foolishly sold my clone a few months back, anyone have a lead on just a C7 upper? There’s a few new production models out there but I’m reading some tolerance issues seem to be present. I’ve been on the EE non stop and haven’t had much luck. Looking for a Colt if possible and yes I posted a WTB.

Picked this light up, and the pad is super not reliable. Is there any how tos on how to fix it? Most I see seem to be falling apart on the pad itself as well as the connection to the cap.

Those of you who made a clone of the Gary Gordon Carbine using the AEM5, who did you have do the barrel work?
Also, any recommendations for an A2 upper brand? |

I had that for an old setup and remember it being juuust a tad longer than ideal. |

Any one have any ideas where to find an innertube section of the correct size for two Ranger bands? My gunsmith is currently fixing my 727 upper to remove the VLTOR some fool had P&Wed on an actual period Colt barrel, which the correct barrel markings as well, and install an A2 flash suppressor with a .02" thick spacer for legality.
|
|
|
[#43]
Just pick up a mountain bike innertube and go to work with the scissors. There is enough material there for a wide margin of error.

I am having a spacer made up and going with an A2 flash suppressor for my RO 727 upper. I have an Aimpoint 5000 and a Colt 14.5" barrel with period markings going on the upper. It will have a peel washer when all is done.
For the lower, I need to get rid of the A2 reinforcements. Any guide for removing said lower reinforcements? I also need the exact dimensions for an A1 type lower. The proper markings were previously done. |
