I have a largely overgassed carbine (the kind that throw the brass far away down range). Even the H2 buffer won't tame it.
I haven't measured the gas port but I believe it to be pretty wide.

Anyway, I have seen good deals on Adams Arms carbine kit. Shall I take the plunge & upgrade my carbine ?

If the port is too large, a conversion is not going to be a fix without an adjustable gas block. You could do that and stay DI, whatever works for you.

I like mine. It should blow all your gas out the front. I have a non-adjustable system.

Personally,  I like the Superlative Arms conversion better. Here's why. (Yes, I've had them both)

1. The SA keeps the spring contained and so the rod diameter is smaller. This allows for more flexibility with aftermarket barrel nuts. Conversly, the captured spring allows it to be in direct contact with gas and powder residue. However, they both pull from the front so cleaning is easy.
2. The AA kit has 3 settings: Hi, Low, Off. The SAS has a ton and it's completely adjustable.
3. The SAS sends extra gas straight forward, towards the muzzle, away from the shooter. The AA kit sends all gas into the handguard area.

Theyre both close to the same price and, shopping around, they should be close to $200.
