I've done a ton of research and watched every review I could find online. It seems like a really cool design and I would love to grab one up but while I've been patiently waiting for Aim or Atlantic to get them in stock, I've been wondering. With AR prices at absolutely all time lows, are these uppers worth the $600 asking price?

I was one of the first to buy one but have only shot it a few times as I've been busy.

I'd say it is an interesting upper and if wolf actually brings the extra parts with it to make a clone(like the rear carry handle) then it is going to be interesting. Personally so far I've been happy with the upper. It is different but seemed to be accurate from my testing.

I have one on a complete Anderson lower.  I love it.  Have not had any issues in about 1500 rds.

I'm sure they're a ton of fun and reliable but the more I think about the price, and the longer they're out if stock, I become more hesitant to spend that kind of money on one. I guess I need some help rationalizing why I should still buy it vs buying a new handgun or saving a little more for a PTR.

I waited until there was some feedback on them. Picked one up and 100% happy I did!

And will get another when they bring out the full T91 spec upper in the near future.

I've taken a close look at these uppers. At $600 they are well worth the cost of admission.

I like mine.  Would like it more as an exact clone with a bayo lug.

Wasn't there some talk Wolf could bring over the carry handles for these?  I like them but being a nerd I want the correct carry handle setup.  I think the front sight is a bit different too isn't it, or is it just the lack of the bayonet lug (less of a concern)?

Yes, I spoke to WOLF directly and they said they will be bringing over parts and accessories, including the carry handle. No idea when they will actually show up.

Thanks for the info.  I'll probably wait a bit since I don't need it now anyway, and kind of want to pull the trigger on a Vepr while I still have a chance.

Mines been 100% reliable and accurate. For a  quality piston upper it,s priced very well. Love how the piston and spring are trapped in the tube... Nice engineering on that ... WarDawg

Does it kill the brass or brass eject forward? It does not have a AR style brass deflector but a short wall, I see shiny spot on the edge of the wall on pictures I saw indicate brass would hit the wall and likely eject forward.

My SBR ejects rounds back about the 4 o'clock position.  Suppressed they eject around 3 o'clock or a little forward.

It appears you can swap out the barrel then for your SBR to run a 11" setup? Any known issues with gas port sizing?
Link Posted: 7/13/2017 11:16:44 PM EDT
[#22]
T91 barrels are not interchangeable with AR barrels. I had my barrel cut to 11.5" and I opened up the gas port to .091-.093"  I can't remember which one. I used a reduced power spring and standard buffer. No issues suppressed or unsuppressed.

My SBR project thread.
